I have just started out racing stock buggy 17.5 and picked up one of these batteries, which HobbyKing says are ROAR approved. As I started looking into the ROAR battery rules I decided to check up on these batteries and couldn't find them on the approval list anywhere, but did find a post on the ROAR forum where it appears that they were submitted for approval, but doesn't explicitly say there were or were not approved. Are they approved as HK claim? If so, why aren't they on the approval list? If they aren't approved, does anyone know what the story is here?

Does your club actually care if the battery is ROAR approved?

The tracks in my area only limit to 8.4V and will often check voltage just before each A Main... most folks in our area are running LiHV packs but only charging to 8.4V.

No I don't think my club cares, there are other people at the track running the same battery. I was more curious about the ROAR approval process and wondering what happened with this battery.

There is probably a backlog of products to be certified at roar (all the new 2019 stuff). Turnigy wouldn't have gone through the submission process without knowing their batteries would pass so they say they are built to roar certification standards and they are just waiting for roar to approve them.
