6CH+ radio for Traxxas Summit

Hello,

I am new to this forum and have started playing with RC cars since about 1 year now.

I have a Traxxas Summit and want to add some extra functionality (switching on-off flashlight and ignition of firework from car) and therefore need 2 extra channels. So I would like to replace the stock receiver and radio by something else which allows me still to activate low/high gear, front diff lock, rear diff lock etc.

So I would need at least 7 to 8 channels. Are there gun radios in this range or should I look for a stick radio? Or are there other possibilities? Basically I do not want to spend a lot of money as it it for experimenting.

Any comments and ideas highly welcome!

Meanwhile I also discovered another project, the Taranis Pistola. However I think this will be a bit to challenging for me currently.
