Power Supply Question

So i've been away for quite a few years from the hobby and i'm beginning to slowly but surely get back in a little. I pick up things here and there and picked up an X6 charger because of the size.

I kept my iCharger 406 (I need to sell this one of these days!) and I have a Samlex 1235 power supply. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with the PS, nor charger for that matter except the size and I'd like to "downgrade" to a physically smaller PS. Other than modded server power supplies does anyone have any recommendations on small, very small power supply's?

I'm not trying or planning on cooking batteries and cycling and all the racer nonsense thats goes on these days. I have a couple vintage cars, mini's and i'm not charging probably over 5A on any battery in any scenario. So it doesn't have to be a very powerful PS. I'm really looking to make my setup as small as possible.

If you have something and are interested in my equipment please keep it off this thread because this is not a for sale thread!!!! Just looking for the smallest PS I can get.

At that charge rate and going for a small size you could have picked up a all in one for the price that you paid for the x6. What you could try doing if al,d you want to charge at is a low rate. Grab something like an old laptop power supply and modify it to connect to the x6.

True but cost savings isn’t my goal. I’ll spend extra for smaller packages these days. Also if I do get the bug to race again it’s not like I’ll need to buy new.

Agreed on the laptop PS. Only consideration is if you are running other items off power supply like pit light or tire truer. They are typically good up to 14-15 volts. Many laptop supplies are over 19 volts.

I do like the size. Thank you for the example......I do need to factor in my pit light. I also need to remember who I let borrow my Hakko too?
