New Lipo

If you bought a Lipo a year ago and never used it, stayed in box, what effect does it have in the battery

There's a fair chance it's ruined, lipos aren't meant to be shipped while charged. You're supposed to bring them up to storage voltage as soon as you can.

Every lipo that I ever had was shipped with at least a sufficient storage charge. How many sit on distributors shelves for a while then on the shelf at a hobby store for quite some time...

A guy bought a couple gen aces a year ago and now he’s selling it with a 7.1. I didn’t think that’s a good idea, especially a year. Shops don’t have inventory sit that long. I just wanted to know for my own edification.

Thanks

check the voltage without charging

The guy who’s selling them doesn’t have a charger and he’s 2hrs away

The lipo should have come from the factory with a storage charge. It should be okay. Without him being able to check the voltage though its anyone's guess as to the current efficacy of the battery.
