LRP Dynamic10L or X12L ??

Hi guys :)

Does anyone have experience with these motors? I'm looking for a nice powerful motor for my Tekno SCT410.3 with 2.8" MT wheels
I'm currently using a Hobbwing 3660sl with a Max10 esc, and while it's ok, I want more speed and power.
The LRP motors are dirt cheap here in Australia, no doubt getting rid of old stock, and LRP have gone bust I believe

So I was looking at either the Dynamic10L 3700kv, or X12L 5.5turn to run on 2S lipo and gear it up for speed

I can't find any info on the power output for the Hobbywing motor or the Dynamic10, but the X12L outputs 695watt

I'm assuming the LRP motors have a ton of power being 70mm long can (Dynamic10) and 66mm can with the X12L

Be careful about the Dynamic 10L.

LRP described the Dynamic 10 motors as having an "oversize front bearing" but when I got one I found it was a 5X10 - smaller than a Traxxas Slash wheel bearing. When I asked them if there was some mistake on that motor the reply was they used the small bearing "to save weight."

So I would never recommend an LRP motor, even on closeout, unless you plan on replacing the front bearing frequently.

I have an LRP dynamic 10L 4700kv in my Hyper Sc10 that is an animal. I bought it used, had a whole season on it, and it freaking screams. You can't run a lot of timing on it because of the way it's wound, or it gets hot. But even at 3 degrees constant, and 5 degrees boost, it is an extremely torquey motor.

I just put a Flash (Nitrorcx) 4800kv 2 pole in my son's slash 4x4, and it is impressive as well, and cost 32 dollars. It is almost as fast as the LRP motor, and I haven't even gotten to fine tune it cause I don't have the program box for the ESC

Ok thanks for the info guys :)

That Flash motor looks pretty sweeeeet. 900watt also, more than the LRP

Yeah it is....

we are racing now, but don't have a ton of cash to spend, I thought for 32 bucks, couldn't go wrong, I was not disapointed. It may burn up three months from now, but I can replace it five times for what some motors cost.

I've been having a look at the trusty old Leopard motors now. 3660 4800kv 12V max, 1700watt max power

We're very limited as to what's available in Australia. Importing things has changed to. It used to be anything under 1000AUD was tax free, now everything is taxed 10% (plus the postage costs) and then it's held up in customs while forms are posted to you and you fill them out and email them back

I got to go to the track with the Slash that the Flash motor is installed in, all I can say is HOLY SHIT! The thing is insane. It was pulling the wheels on a loose track in a 4wd truck with a 30c 2s battery. It was running away from my Tenshock sc411 4000kv like it was sitting still. When I got home, I ordered 2 more of those motors to put in my other trucks.
