short of sticking a gopro on my touring car which I can't imagine would do much for the handling, are there any FPVish small form factor options for adding cameras to cars? not so much for controlling by FPV, I just think it'd be interesting to record laps for analysis after the fact

It's pricey, but Runcam do some nice stuff, so I checked their web site and there's this thing which only weighs 16g: https://shop.runcam.com/runcam-thumb-pro/ (I have no experience with it, but kinda tempted)

It doesn't have a battery, so you need to hook it up to power in the car (shouldn't be too much of an issue) and records to an SD card.

The Insta360 Go is under 20g, the Go2 under 30g.

A bit pricey sticking onto your body and risk either it falling off or you crashing. Sticking it on the inside of the body would be better, but those lexan bodies arent exactly 100% clear

I have a RunCam 2 4k edition that I use occasionally on my stadium truck. It has pretty good video but the image stabilization isn't on par with a GoPro, also I ended up installing a 0805 330 ohm surface mount resistor across the mic leads which helped the sound quality a whole lot. The lens protectors can break in a crash/ rollover but they are replaceable. For my 1/8 stuff I designed and 3D printed a special mount for a GoPro. I ned to make a better mount than the modified cheap plastic one for the RunCam. The vids they create are pretty cool to watch.
