Default Icharger x6 Mini 30A Discharge

Has anyone successful discharged at 30a with the new x6? Ive tried every setting and configuration I could come up with. Manual is very vague.

I was looking at it and the max discharge is in regenerative mode so you have to have another larger battery as power source and it dumps the power into the source. I don't own as of yet. Already on back
order.

So, if im cranking a 2s at 30amps discharge, Id need a 3s as power source?

How are you powering your X6? The 30A discharge is only possible if you are powering the charger from a battery.

Also, if the settings are the same as other iChargers, you have to set discharge voltage and current to get the discharge wattage you want.

Or larger, yes. It's a "greener" way to do it. I assume some of it was probably developed because people were charging from car batteries. Airplane/quads and such since they are remote locations.

Have you tried this configuration? It is supposed to allow for 900w of discharge with a series resistor configuration...

Looks cool though, to have that much capability in a more affordable charger will be great, and it looks fairly small too!

Randy,

Are you working on a discharge part for the x6 ? How about a small stand ?

Yes, Im working on a resistor bank for them but the first batch of chargers have some issues and don't work with an external resistor bank.
a floating stand for this small unit that would clamp to the power supply would be cool.

Ok. Electronics baffle me but I'm going to ask the dumb question. The way the diagram is shown with a discharge bank in series with the positive cable, how are you going to let the battery cycle? I assume that setup would only work to get a full 30A discharge. If you try and charge at 30A through the discharge bank wouldn't that make the amps (or something else, idk) drop when it reaches the battery? In my mind this is an inconvenient way and would need two setups for cycling a battery.

It would appear that way. Inconvenient, but $150 less than a 308 duo...

Regardless of software “issues”, this charger will not discharge at 30amps, by itself, period. Junsi has a strong rep and of course knows the limitations of its chargers.

Once junsi fixes the issue the discharge bank that motiv sells will work. It already works great with the other I chargers.

Is it safe to cycle a 2s 5200mah lipo at 30A using a car battery and the X6? Motorcycle/garden tractor battery?

Could I use a big lipo to power the charger while dumping and recharging at 30A at the track? Say 8 cycles with the same 2s 5200mah lipo? If so what size lipo would be needed?

Thanks!
