More torque so it's somewhat more forgiving on your gear ratio window without losing so much top-end or punch.
We run 13.5T/17.5T and allow outlaw in Hong Kong. Motor of choice is still the G2 Bandit even after Specter was released.

The bandit G2 sure is a crowd favorite but the specter isnt far behind and its picking up traction since the release of the V2.

I tend to edge towards the specter just because of the open can design where direct cooling is achievable. The G2 is a torque monster, but you need to keep a close eye on the temps or you risk burning your motor.

depends, what class?
Its impossible to select one motor that is best for all applications and tracks.

For shorter tracks you'll want something w/ more torque, for longer you'll want higher RPM. Off road and on road both have their better motors too as does each class. What is good for one class/track will not be best for another. Impossible to answer.

If you're running under sanctioned rules, you can't use them. If you're not, why not just get a mod motor?

The OP didnt ask for legal motor under sanctioned rules, He just simply asked for "the best motor"

And any typical mod motor would be better than a Bandit. I already covered that in my previous reply.

Except he didn't specify what the rules are where he races. If it is an open class, then yeah a mod motor is going to be the best. If it is a class where the motor is limited to a specific wind then a mod motor would be cheating. If the rules state all motors must be ROAR/whatever approved, then an outlaw motor is cheating. If all the rules state is that a motor must be of a specific wind, then the outlaw motor is legal, and the best option.

Three different cases, and nobody but the op knows what is going on, so everyone's post (aside from mine) is speculation on what is best. He did a bad job framing his question if three different answers could be the right one. People are going to defend their answer as the best, even when they could be wrong based on the incomplete information of op.
