ESC settings vs using radio settings?
Just thinking about making some changes to try to improve my lap times. So it got me to thinking about how this works and what would be different in using the ESC programming vs radio programming? Example.... Say turning the torque limit (RX8) down to 90 vs leaving the torque at 100 and turning the radio (4px) endpoint to 90 on the throttle? |
Changing settings on the remote are definitely easier and faster to do.
The ESC will give you more control though. I say only change ESC settings that you can't change on your remote. Leave as much as possible up to the remote. |
They are different things. If you turn down the torque/punch/whatever it's called on any particular ESC, you are making the throttle "softer" as it gets to 100% throttle. If you reduced the radio EPA, you are literally limiting it to a throttle amount of less than 100% throttle when you are at full throttle. I personally dial in the ESC with everything at 100 or 0 where applicable on the tx, then use the tx for fine-tuning.

for throttle.. I set the esc for max (100 percent).... then alter the radio to be softer till 3/4 throttle (curved slope)... and learn to limit your finger for max power...
so you have it down the straights... and do not for turns and corners... |
