What is the difference? This is a serious question, I'm back to RC racing recently after a 20 year break when we used crystals and mechanical speed controllers were still used in some spec classes...
From a speed perspective, you will probably not see any benefit to upgrading to the m17 based on Sanwa's current specs. They are almost at zero latency as it sits so there isn't a whole lot more to improve on. And the M12 uses the same protocol as the mt4s you currently have so speed won't be any better.

It sounds more of a evolution rather than a revolution. Going to a color touch screen which will hopefully make navigation easier and possibly more versatile. Although their current models have pretty much any option you'd want.Hey! maybe you can keep up on your clash of clans war in between races now!!

That is probably the most over looked feature outside of realizing you can use one of the dials to control throttle response on the fly. A lot of people have nice radios, but few of them really understand how to take advantage of the features from some reason.

There is nothing wrong with Android. There are plenty of android systems that will walk the dog on most mobile OS' out there. The issue is Spektrum. They have always been procurers of cheap garbage that have been well known for years for brown outs with planes/heli guys with their first gen systems, and their design/build quality and quality control is a joke. They are the highend of frSky with a traxxas mentaility for marketing and quantity over quality.
Spektrum is the ditch gun of RC.
You could be right on that, I have always used Android phones with no issues, and generally have had issues with anything Spektrum...........
