What does the steering curve do? I was playing around with throttle curve and can see what it does but for steering I didn't feel anything different.

What is the release cycle? 3 years?
2015 M12S
2018 M17
Just wondering if a new radio will be out next year from Sanwa.

Seems to be about 3 years, the M12 was 2012. We might see a 'piano black' edition of the M17 before a M17S shortly after. It has been a weird year though, no idea what effect that will have on a new release.

I want to get some lighter than my m12s. I think it's too bulky.
mt-44 looks good, may get a 17 or wait it out. What is typically in the 's' model?

i suspect they didn’t get the ROI they were hoping for based on the delays of the m17. If it were me I would let it sit in the market longer with smaller changes to recoup some of the investment.

I don't really know how they'd make any improvements that would be significant. 10-20% faster at this point is a small difference (like the M12s or RS vs M12 was), I bet the M17 will be as is for quite a while.
Its been available for just over a year at this point. If you get one now you'll be set for a LONG time, and even if a S or RS version comes out the current one doesn't get any worse.
I love mine and if you want one I wouldn't worry about any of its replacements any time soon.
