Default Hobbywing Xerun V10 G3

Did anybody try one of the new motors from hobbywing, the G3?
I have ordered the 17.5 and the 5.0 and wanted to have input about it while I'm waiting for it to arrive.
Thanks.

the mod motors are very good

I have not seen a 17.5 one where gearing and timing was figured out, still too new, regular settings has them pretty slow

They looked incredible at the TITC race in Bangkok over the last week.

I put a 13.5 G3 and XR10 Pro in a 22SCT 3.0 for Late Model Oval but haven't driven it against other cars yet. It does feel soft on the bottom end, but has good top end speed.

It doesnt seem like the FDRs listed in the manual are correct. They are the same as the G2.

Once the snow melts here again I am going to ramp up the timing and gear it down a bit to see if it will come off the corner harder.

Any updates about this motor? Would like to know feed backs about it.

I am on XR10 Pro with the 13.5t (blinky mode) Large outdoor asphalt track with low grip, mostly technical. Still trying to figure out its FDR.

Nick Adams did some insight:

He does great electronics reviews, and I have been following him for a while so I tend to put some stock in what he says.

yeah I watched the vid, seems he is thinking its oriented to big track, but looking for more realworld testing, especially in 2wd buggy class.

the mod motors are definitely rockets, coupled with the xr10 pro delivery is perfectly smooth, ran 4 batts consecutively and didnt have any issues with heat at all. previously i have struggled with heat when running Fantom mod motors..

i havent used the spec motors, but knowing hobbywing quality would have no qualms about strapping one in

so the question now comes back to the spec motors. Anyone got experience with the 17.5s?
