How many of you that have posted in this thread have first hand experience with high current cycling?

I do but not on RC Batteries

I was expecting this thread to be about indoor racing, 4x4 short course with massive power. Corner marshes tend to pay more attention, when we come out to race. :)

I always charge my 1s packs at 20 amps unless the track I’m at dictates a lower rate.

the rc guy 03-03-2018 11:36 AM

20 amps is only 4 c if their 5000mah cells.so not over 5c rate

chensleyrc1 03-04-2018 10:54 PM

Been charging and discharging at 40 amps for a few years now. Almost everyone at my track does, no issues with power and no issues with LiPo's going up in flames. Heck, we have the Hudy Indoor Champs every year also, still no issues with power or LiPo fires.

ah, rebuildable wet acid batteries....

tow-motors an such... 1,000 pound battery and UP.... single 24 volt battery.. some 48 volt..
even hear of the Ma-bell wired telephone battery banks... massive

1,000 amps PLUS... some years ago...

that is HIGH AMP charging..:)

better to 'defined' your numbers.

Personal Safety... its your responsibly

do you know all of the exits.. from memory.. with eyes covered..

IF NOT.. you are in danger..

first thing a fire does.. is cause you NOT TO SEE..... then not to breath.. so craw out of the building... using said MEMORY...

Yep, taking a 4x4 Shortcourse Mod to the head of a kid. That would be my safe worry. People don't like it when you slam their buggies during practice also.

I'm running two iCharger 308's. Stock classes charge 30 amps, discharge 30 amps. Mod classes, charge 10 amps, and I don't discharge. Testing it out.

I only charge 1 battery at 30amp, at a time.

I think the odds of someone stealing tools, parts, tires, batteries etc is much higher than lipo fire.

True, but from a stolen car/equipment no space will be burned down.....
