Charger help needed
 

Been out of the game for a while, getting back in. Looking for a little guidance on chargers. Ive been trying to search the forum for options but there's a million threads and I cant sort whats what out.

I need something simple.

No adapters or extra panels I have to plug in, unless this is something that is absolutely necessary - I had a charger a few years ago that had all sorts of crap hanging off it. Id like to try and avoid that.

Something that plugs directly into a wall plate at home. And then another cable directly into the Lipo.

A clean and clear display that will tell me all numbers and info needed.

Buttons that are straight forward, charge, discharge, etc.

Will stop charging automatically and not blow my battery up if left plugged in.
Can discharge correctly without issue.

Im sure im forgetting some sort of option, any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Charger doesn't not have to be top of the line, but id like to avoid junk.

Well I'm not sure there are many if any chargers that have a super simplified charge button setup because the lipos of today have so many different charge modes that are almost all necessary to keep them safe, balance charging and storage charge are two functions right off the top of my head that we need for lipos. Also rest assured that all of these new chargers will stop charging once the battery is full as a safety measure since lithium is a beautifully unstable element :) So even if not trying my suggestion, just about anyone elses will keep you safe too.

That being said, if you're mainly charging 2s lipos, the Hitec X2 series of chargers are excellent bang for your buck as they can easily charge two 2s lipos at a 1c charge rate at the same time. The menu system is very simple and I did not even read the manual on my Hitec X2 Pro before starting it up, so I imagine the other two X2 options would be similar. Of the two currently in stock I would go with the Black Edition. It's got enough juice to charge any 2s lipo up to 10 amps and can still charge larger batteries at respectable rates. And to add, AC chargers are pretty notorious for having slow discharge cycles due to a lack of wattage being dedicated to it. So if you are okay with discharging between 1-5 amps then AC chargers will still be fine for you.

Also the only way I believe you'll be able to avoid an extra cable dangling off the charger (IE: Balance board) you'd need to buy a charge lead like this that plugs directly into the charger's balance port. I don't believe any current chargers include something like this.

Get something like the SkyRC E4. It is a LiPo dedicated charger with only 3 position charging current setting.

I just recently switched to the HT206. SMC racing sells it. It’s a simple charger that has a lot of nice options. Ive been really happy with it.

charger. Does it do one or two batteries at a time?

I have a question for you. What does dual mean?

HT206 has two independent channels that will charge two batteries at a time.

Dual meaning two.

I was asking platgof to see if he bothered to read the description and not because I did not know the meaning of dual.
