Receiver Wire - no antenna?

I am getting back into RC after a 30 year absence, and watching all of these YouTube channels, I never see these rc cars with the Antenna wire sticking up through the body. What do you do with the wire?
Just built a TLR 22 4.0, has the mounting point for the antenna, but never see anyone with an antenna in any video online...

Any useful suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

There are receivers out there w/o an external antenna. That is probably what you are noticing.

Here's an example.

Most antenna wires now days are short, 7-8 inches so they can be tucked inside the car whit out issues. Some have internal ones so there's nothing to see.

Mine are all bundled in heat shrink tubing then double side taped to the top of the receiver. Been running them this way for years in both indoors and out as well as nitro and electric classes. Zero issues.

The only warning I would give is about wrapping your receiver wire multiple times around a piece of metal, such as a screw and then holding it tightly to it. That can cause some small amount of interference, in theory. I generally just route the wire somewhere convenient, such as under a battery strap or to an empty mount hole on a body post.
