Just got an Orion r10. Can I use a Hobbywing program box to set it up? $90 is just too steep for a box.

Not that I'm aware of. You gotta pay to play with Orion goodies. It's a brand that likes to take your money and run.

I hope the ESC is worth it

Worth it as far as the cost, maybe not. But it should be a very smooth and capable ESC once you get it up and running. People are still willing to pay close to $400 for their new HMX ESC so it can't be too bad :)

Check out their support. Haven't heard anything good on that part!

I was using Tekin, but it crapped out today.

What made you pick the Orion over going with one of the newer Tekin speedos as a replacement?

A friend at the track one, barely used. I was looking to try something new anyway. I liked the RSX. But I really hated the capacitor. And soldering the the battery and motor wires to those posts was a pain.

Yeah those solder posts definitely require some precision so I don't blame ya. Hopefully the new ESC gives you a long running life :)

$90? Ugh, and here I thought the ~$32 I paid for the Hobbywing card was a bit "rich" (that's what I get for paying less than half that for TrackStar ones, and the Speed Passion one I have was included in a combo).

$90? I thought my reedy 510R box was a lot at $60.
