Motor getting hotter?

After owning a couple of LRP motors for the last 2-3 yrs they seem to be running hotter than ever. Ive checked the bearings and replaced them as a precaution but still running 20 degrees hotter than the competitions cars. I know LRP motors in particular run a little hotter than others but this feels excessive.

Is there any logical reason for this? Can a motor get hotter as a result of the magnets lossing some performance?

Yes. If the rotors are start losing magnetic strength the motor will in general start running hotter. It’s normal as far as I know. Replacing the rotor should show a big improvement to how it feels as well as lowering the motor temps. Although running it a bit hotter won’t hurt it anymore than it has been.

i think it's a common problem. my friend have both 1/10 and 1/8 lrp motor. both of them over heated, the 1/8 motor goes up to 200F.
