Tekin Hotwire 2.0, New software problems!!!
So apparantly they released a 12.30 version of the software. I assume to fix something with the bluetooth unit. But since that update, it has rendered my non-bluetooth unit useless.
Anyone else having trouble? I have tried everything, even a different pc, to no avial. The only thing that I can think of is they either forgot to put the usb driver in there, or decided to let windows handle it, or something. When i first installed on my win10 machine, before the usb driver fully loaded, it recognized it as a tekin hotwire device. Now it just calls it a USBexpress device. On my win7 laptop, it just calls it a usbexpress device. I know it worked before because when i first hooked it up to my laptop this afternoon, it lit green, and I had a red light in the esc as you should. Then it prompted me to update the hotwire software, said it would NOT update the esc, so like an idiot I updated it and now its just a paperweight and not even a good one at that lol. Anyone else having issues? |
Nobody? Huh.

sorry I haven't heard this issue. Randy has been off for a few days. Im sure he'll get back on Monday. plus you can call Tekin Tech on Monday also. I am waiting delivery of my HW 3.0 but that software version your talking about Ive not seen for the 2.0. You might also go to Tekin ws and look to the software tab for HW and see about updates there.

Ok thanks. If you to tekin ws you should see the software. I don’t think they put out a different version for 3.0, since 3.0 is bt, but maybe they do.
I may just buy a 3.0 today if they have one at the shop, or a cable to run 2.0 off my old android phone. I’d rather not spend more $$ because I’ve had nothing but issues with 2.0, doesn’t give me confidence about 3.0.. |
ok I've got 258 loaded in mine and have not had any issues. I not running the HW 3 yet; like I said. So my laptop still gets it work out but it not Win 10 either. The only reason I'm doing a HW 3 is because I'm a Apple guy, not tech savy, but have the phone and tablet so it will beat carrying around my laptop everywhere. I hope.
I know there were some other folks who had Win 10 issue if you check on some other threads you might find the answer your looking for. Good luck. |
My issue isn’t with 258, I had that loaded with the 11.xx Hotwire software. It’s with the 12.xx (I think it’s 12.30) Hotwire software that doesn’t seem to play well.
I have a Apple phone too, which would be the only reason to buy the Bluetooth unit. Of course I forgot the old android phone at home so that sucks, blah. Lol |
Bumping this up again, hopefully Randy will see it and respond, or someone will.
I wish they would just attach the correct drivers in the download package. They can still have it auto install for those that aren't computer savvy, but for those of us who are, it would be nice to have a folder called "drivers", without having to dig through 4 levels of hidden files and folders to try and find it. In this case, I couldn't find it anyways. |
I've been out a few days sick. It's very rare but it happens.
12.30 isn't the latest software version and there should be another digit on that version to begin with. Can you double check the entire version? Feel free to email me as it'll be quicker: [email protected] |
We have corresponded through email. Thank you again for all the help!

I had trouble also, but donīt worry, there are loads of tutorials on the internet. I found one on dowcore, but it might be down. Google in general is the best place to find solutions, just try various languages or use youtube.
