SMC or Fantom
I'm ready to upgrade to 5mm Lipos and looking at making a big investment.
10 packs and a bunch of male 5 mm bullets - any recommendations or at they pretty much the same? Saw that SMC's are adjustable. Leaning toward the Fantom lipos just because i've owned them before but have read nothing but great things about SMC's lipos. Both are about the same price and mAh ratings. I haven't tried Fantom packs yet, but most of my SMC packs last about 6 months in both my 1/10 4WD SC (2S) and 1/8 eBuggy and eTruggy classes (4S)
If your club allows it I would also consider ProMatch, they tend to last longer for me before they start to fade and generally have been my preference, with SMC as my backup option when ProMatch is out of stock for what I need, but if you're looking for a top performing pack, then I'd consider this one here before they go out of stock: Product pages for Pro-Match Racing's rc lipo packs rechargable batteries If you need an in-line, then this one here would be worth considering too: Product pages for Pro-Match Racing's rc lipo packs rechargable batteries I like to multiply the Capacity times the C rating to get the "Relative Amp" (rA) draw a pack can support, in the testing I've done, typically packs with the highest rA will offer the lowest IR. I recently got this pack here for my 13.5T buggy and it was showing an IR of 1.53 which is pretty darn impressive for a 6Ah size shorty: Product pages for Pro-Match Racing's rc lipo packs rechargable batteries |
I picked up one of those promatch 6000 shorties a couple weeks ago. I like it. Also like that it's free shipping.

I think it's free priority shipping too, I typically get my orders delivered in about 2 days to Texas from ProMatch (based out of Lake Havasu, AZ)

If the new Gens Ace RS's are 5mm I'll give one of those a shot too.

Thanks for all the input - leaning toward ProMatch
Looks like Gens Ace are only 4mm https://www.amainhobbies.com/search?...+ace+shorty+2s https://www.genstattu.com/gens-ace-4...orty-pack.html |
Spoke with Jeff @ Pro-Match and ended up placing my order with him - thanks everybody!

4mm? What do you mean?

SMC all the way!

SMC and GensAce are good, but they are on the heavy side. Want to keep the 2S full size under 300g.

and not in stock...
