Wink indoor onroad help for track

our local club is in the process of leasing a large building, we are entertaining putting an onroad track in, not carpet, we would like to paint the floor or treat it for traction,
does anyone have any experience in this?
Pointers? Hints? what NOT to do.
we cannot afford CRC carpet,
Thankx, Bill

Way way back in the day we used to run oval on a plywood track.. they mixed sand in with black paint and it had excellent traction on what would have otherwise been an ice rink..
