Default 2016 TOUR Oval Short Track Nats (Rosewood)

HEY, HEY, HEY! Don't put away your Toy cars just yet. Rosewood will host the 2016 TOUR Oval Short Track Nationals (TOST Nats) on 6-7 May. The track will be reconfigured to 120ft - 140ft run line on 16 April. I will post the entry fee as soon as we calculate award, TOUR fees etc. don't worry, you will have to give up your first born lol. The classes that will be run are:

21.5 Open
SK
17.5 Super Truck
13.5 spec
1/12 scale 13.5 Blinky

If we have at least three of any other type of classes not mentioned above i.e. legends, Mud boss, 1/12 truck etc, we will run that class. Feel free to send a PM, I check the site at least 3 times a day

I ask that you send me the class or classes you intend to enter by 23 Apr 2016 so we can plan accordingly for award etc.

Thanks in advance

as of 6PM on 21 Feb I have been contacted by racers the plan on attending and race the following classes:

3 = 21.5 Open
2 = SK
3 = 13.5 Spec
5 = 17.5 Super Truck

I also contacted someone that is willing to bring grill to provide human consumption:
3 Bs (Burgers, Bake beans and Beer) Oh yeah they will have other edible items also.

I will be contacting several trophy companies tomorrow to get and estimate so we can lock-in the entry fee.

I am stoked, going to workout.

Good Morning Carpet Oval World! Over the past few days I have field calls and emails from Florida, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee and New York in reference the 2016 TOSTN. All with good response toward attending the event. Now, if the planets line up just right, the wives/significant others gives us permission and the bosses stop bossing. And With 2 months to advertise we should have a great showing. As of today, their are at least five drivers in the following classes;
21.5, 17.5 Super Truck, 13.5 Spec, 13.5 Open, SK Mod,

At least three drives in the following classes;
Legends and MUDBoss

I will be in the NC this weekend to establish hotel connections and number the PITs. we will try to place a photo of the pit area on the 2016 TOSTN FB page so you can reserve your pit area by number.

I like to thank Scottie B for posting the 2016 TOSTN FB page and all the Rosewood crew for putting the word out.

It was brought to my attention that the Legend class is not a TOUR class. Therefore, the legend class or NON-TOUR class entry fee will be $25.00. The award will be a monetary payout i.e. 1st=50%, 2=25%, 3rd=15%, B-main 1st=10%. subject to with the number of legend entries

News From the WOOD, 27 March 2016

The track was reduced from the big track 160ft - 170ft and converted to a mere shadow of its self. The short track is in place and ready for action. Shorty was rolled three time in order to get several run lines; low line 125ft, medium line 130ft and high line 135ft, for a 130ft average. Photos will be placed on the 2016 TOSTN FB page. Several drives ranging from MudBoss to 13.5 Open took advantage of the layout and got in some practice lap. After about 30mins turns 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 started to come alive. prior to that it was drifting city. Average lap times are listed below;
21.5 Sportsman Open = 4.35 - 4.65
17.5 Super Truck = 3.88 - 4.14
SK = 3.94 - 4.24
!3.5 Spec = 3.57 - 3.89
13.5 Open = 3.45. 3.78

Track will be open for more testing, tuning and racing on Saturday, 2 Apri6 2016. I
like to give a shot out and thanks, for their work on the shorty: Milton B., Matthew B., Scottie B., Chris O. Dee H., Robert T.

We just got back from the TOUR Carpet Oval Nats at King (The RUG). We had a blast. It seems that I have created some confusion in the 21.5 world. So here is my attempt to clarify and to get a clear distinction on whose running 21.5 Sportsman and whose running 21.5 Expert/Open.

The 21.5 Sportsman will use the TOUR rules. excerpt from the 2015-2016 TOUR Rules, Sportsman (21.5) This is an entry-level class for TOUR. It is intended for sportsman and new racers. This class will feature a car body (K&N series) pre Gen 2, 3 or 6 style body, open to any 1/10th pan car chassis, World GT spec tires, TOUR Spec 21.5 motor (MUST BE RUN BOX STOCK), and Electronic Speed Controls (ESC) used in the class must be ROAR approved under the “ROAR Sportsman Class ESC rule” and must be set to the Sportsman (blinky) profile at all times (i.e. no timing boost, cheat mode, etc). The only batteries allowed in this class are the SMC 4000 Mah, 25c pack PN4025s and SMC 25C 4300mAh PN4325 (NEW). Basically if it is not in the rules, you cannot do it!
The 21.5 Expert/Open can use any ROAR legal 21.5 motor, all other TOUR rules, listed above, apply to the expert/open. I will post on hobby talk and FB to see if we can get a breakdown of who is running 21.5 Sportsman and who is running 21.5 Expert/open.

Please let me know if you are running 21.5 Sportsman or 21.5 Expert/Open at the TOSTN. Then I can divide the class and place you accordingly. I will post and update the number of 21.5 Sportsman and 21.5 Expert/Open entries.

Legend Rule for the 2016 TSOTN held at Rosewood: 48pitch 81spur/35pinion, Photon 2, WGT, SMC Spec 4000/4300mAH, RX pack, adjustable turnbuckles.

Hope this clears up the confusion.

Thanks.

2016 TOSTN update as of 160413. there are 52 per-registared racers and 81 cars. Thanks to my wife, I now know that I scheduled the race on mother's day weekend. Therefore, I would like to know how many racers are bringing your wives or significant other so we can honor them at the beginning of the race. Please continue to send update if you are running 21.5 Sportsman or 21.5 Open/Expert. listed below are the class breakdown.
5 = Legends
2 = Mudboss
2 = 21.5 Sportsmans

11 = SK
21 = 17.5 Super Truck
11 = 13.5 Spec
2 = 12th scale 13.5 Open
11 = 13.5 Open

The following pit spaces are still available and we still have room for tables in the hobby shop. Pit space # 11, 23 - 28, 33, 34, 46 - 50, 59 - 62
