Default CRMPL Off Road Track

Greetings fellow racers.
This is my new home track and this time I'll be racing and doing maintenance duties. Will post news, test reports and my own experience while driving different cars and equipment.
Any question regarding what I and others use on this track feel free to ask.

THE beginning.
It all started around 4 years ago when the closest A class track went down and a group went searching around for tracks. We found a couple tracks but only one was 1/10th-1/8th friendly and had a good following but was private, the others were basher grounds/too small. Time went by and we thought we should build a track,a "by-the-rules" kind of track.
Two of us took their own time and started to gather information about tracks and searching for suitable locations. That was when we had a temporary track on grass 10 meters away from current location. In the meantime, the private track closed and we're in a rush to build our track gathering support from local authorities.
I don't deserve any credit, this group has listened to all input to come up with an IMO great track.
This track was built in cooperation with the town hall and a couple persons who are leading this track to a great future. So if your city/town has vacant land talk them to enrich it with a RC track.

THE Track itself.
It was built with a road grader in a day, then finished with a backhoe and a small road roller. The surface is composed with whatever was underneath the surface,90% clay, south and southeast of the track is composed of black dirt. It has medium traction and is hard packed with a very dusty top,we ran it clockwise.
Right now it needs some maintenance because of rain water and bikes wandering on the track.

THE equipment.
I ran three 1/10th 2wd buggies(TLR 22 1.0,Team C TC02 and TC02C),A Kyosho MP7.5 and a GS Racing XUT and for two laps a Ishima Rave M01S.
The TC02C was the most amazing thing to drive since it was the first MM buggy I've ever drove,it was dialed the moment it touched ground, the TC02 is the practice/test mule so it's worn,I struggled finding a setup for this car,now it rides with a silvercan-teu101bk combo or a Msonik Tempo11 and Z-Zone 19T. The MP7.5 is the one you see on the above photo,I've ran it there with a GS Racing B03(RB S3 based/clone),Sirio Kanai Evo3 STI and the Orion 3 ports. My favorite is the Evo3 because of the performance, then the Orion for it's drivability and last the B03 that's basically a tamed Orion but drinks too much fuel. The pipe was always the 2058 but I have a 2013 I might test. The XUT was the RTR one, went very well, too much steering and a very fast engine meant a fun ride. The Ishima is very easy to drive, turns off power and doesn't push much on power, has some trouble with the motor mounts shifting though.
Fuel is Supernova Gen2 25%. The TLR and the B4 are the complete opposite of each other, the 22 has little traction coming out of turns and the B4 has too much of it,it's all setup though.

Another testing day at the track.
Yesterday has 2wd buggy time! So armed with the TC02 and the 22 I went for some laps. I had changed anti-squat and shock position on the 22 and the results are very good, aggressive turn-in and can control attitude around bends with throttle, very responsive and still have great traction this with a GM80R and a Robitronics platinum 8.5T geared 23-76. The track surface has some problems, because of all the raining sand, ruts and puddles are popping everywhere. Will begin working on berms and drainage weather permits

Things are going well. Paperwork is being done and maintenance work on the track stopped further surface degradation.
I've been approached by folks who want a cheap, reliable, easy to drive and keep vehicle so I show them my brushed 2wd buggy running a 19T motor and they like it. Particularly the size, sane speeds and the simplicity of just charging a battery and go. So far the only vehicles that fit the requirements are the Team C brushed RTR's because that's what the LHS supplies, I have one Ansmann RTR(it's the older Team C version) and for a beginner class is more than adequate. The Slash is being sold more than twice of Team C's price, so it's out of contention. No other SC is being sold so it's narrowed down to 2wd buggy/truck.
My plan is to spec a silver can motor(the RTR included one) and maybe batteries, run trucks and buggies together and keep a separate score. With the good price we can get them maybe a true spec class could be successful

Finally the club is growing. Going to schedule heavy work and build a driver's stand.

Today tested the Kanai 2 with 2.5 degrees rear toe. Still have lots of traction I'll switch to 2 degrees.

Long time without updates here. Much maintenance work done, dumped more white clay soil on places where it was naked or had sand, flattening and concrete berms! Work is going great on driver's stand and paperwork. This is not easy and most of our associates are sitting and waiting for all the work to be done but the core group is strong. It's a track that caters to Hybrids for electric 1/10th and anything works for 1/8th buggy which it's a good trait.

As you can see, we haven't spent a lot on the track to make it nice but it's enough to have fun.
The driver's stand will be covered and the track perimeter fenced.

Phew, that was a tiresome race day.
Today was the first serious race we had there, still for fun but with trophies and medals so we didn't came home unrewarded. Well, apparently my GoPro didn't saved any footage
Now about the race, we did 3 pre sorted mains for each skill group. Worked very well with some close battles. Race director thought about giving the trophy to a racer that would take pride in it and become even more addicted and he did the right thing. For a first "serious" race it all went pretty well, no marshals showed up so I doubled up as general mechanic and marshal alongside with another driver. My races went so-so, THE Car had enough speed to be a clear winner but consistency was lacking big time so I'm back to my MBX6. Will keep THE Car because I believe I can make it better.
Spectator attendance was though the roof(close to 100 persons watching!); I liked all the drivers; funny remarks everywhere; good vibe in the driving stand, really the most rewarding 4 hours I've had in years, I'm tired but want more!

The last pics are the track before the race, a front loader was required just to level the surface from rain damage, everything else was done by man power.

3rd annual big race next Monday (holiday here), today was maintenance day and I'm tired. Just raked the track surface and hopefully the track will be completely dry by Monday.

More good news, I will be the race director!
