Default Black light racing

I was talking to a friend about some local racing that was in the works here in my area he mentioned some racing in california SoCal raceway that did "black light racing" where they would run the race in black lights.

anyone have any details on this? pictures maybe. this sounds cool.

They did it in Off Road but stopped several years ago. I think it just became more hassle that in was worth. The pipe that outlined the track was white so it would reflect but not much else did.

Personally, just watching it gave me a headache.

A tip though, if any other track tries it, paint your body with a florescent color...on the outside of the body. Yeah, the paint will come off pretty quick but it seemed to maximize visibility.

I raced the blacklight a couple times....it's harder than it seems...but fun as hell!!!!!

There just isn't enough interest for Jim to break out the paint and blacklights to do it, though...
