Started racing in Tucson around '93. A group of us would head to SRS in Tempe then Scottsdale Friday after work. Occasionally we would load up and make a SoCal run to MnM.

Did all the big races at SRS - Cactus in the spring and Peak in December.

Moved to Jackson,MS in 96 I think. Great facility with a big paved tri-oval, off road and on road track.

Wow...a lot of memories from this thread. Ya, I can say I've seen just about all of it. The first itty bitty dirt track at what is now Adventure City in Stanton, the old track in up town Whittier. The 1/12th scale racers at Briggs Cunningham in Costa Mesa, The Ranch Pit Stop, ROAR and ORRCA nationals...racing in Oregon and Washington state and of course the original RCH (Radio Controlled Hobbies) started by my late father, Larry Van Osten Sr. He was THE first to work directly with Tamiya as a distributor and went on to manufacture most of the cutting edge after market products for the Sand Scorcher and Rough Riders. Any one remember the Barranca family and Competition Plus magazine and then their indoor track in Huntington Beach?

Definitely! Bumping a old thread but when I just got into racing I started at east st raceway in verona around 92-93. The xx had just come out. I remember seeing you there and remember the last name. Actually I think I met your dad about 10 years ago at a onroad track.

After east st closed I started going to wagonhill then when they closed scooters in Niles ohio.

Couple Pics from east st raceway. Verona pa just outside of Pittsburgh

Not one mention of Ratty's? In Attleboro, MA, a half hour south of Boston.
Big outdoor asphalt track and 4-cell indoor track.
My first nationals in 1980. Trophyed the b-main in 4-cell mod. =)
Joel, Ralphie, RePeat, Lavacot all emerging stars.

Anyone remember Yorba Linda RC raceway? Early 90s.
Indoor asphalt onroad that changed to offroad.
