1/5TH 1/8TH Chat at Wagner Park, Williamstown N.J.
Hey guys, I want to set up a day sometime in October to see if Wagner Park would be feasible for some 1/5th and maybe some 1/8th racing in 2014....
Plan would be to use the existing pit area and expand the track a bit....Pitting would then be done in the hockey rink, which is behind that row of canopies... https://sphotos-b-lga.xx.fbcdn.net/h...32524038_n.jpg I still have the portable lane dividers I used to use for parking lot racing, and can set up the additional lanes quickly for testing. The existing road course lanes are 12 foot with the oval lane 15-16 foot....We would make the new lanes in the pit area, a little wider, since it is farthest from the drivers stand.... Gotta check my schedule for a good date, so don't put them cars away just yet....I'll also set up the scoring system for a little mock racing too... |
wow, 1/8th at Williamstown.. ahh the memories...
not a bad idea. |
Okay guys, the Test and Tune is scheduled for THIS Sunday, October 27th!
Figure on getting there around Noon with testing beginning around 1pm. Again, this is for the larger scales 1/5th, GT1, and even 1/8th just to try the larger makeshift layout to see if it will be feasible for 2014. We have 3-4 guys already showing up....Anyone else interested in testing, just show up.... I'm bringing the generator and may set up some mock races with the computer.... Weather looks to be sunny and "fall like" so should be a nice day to burn up your 2013 fuel....vrOOOOM! Pictures and videos will be taken, and posted here for all to see.... |
my F1 is out of commission for a few more days but i will be there with a touring car. looking forward to this

Tried to make it down the day before the VTA race but had some trailer issues. What was a "free" mower turned into the million dollar mower to get running. lol ... will be available for next season.
I'll be down tomorrow. |

You're welcome guys! It was just as much fun watching you guys test this out....ENJOY!!!!!:sneaky:

Just as a side note to the test session....
There were three guys who stopped out that were a local production crew scouting Wagner Park as a possible site for a Doritos commercial for the Super Bowl! They were legit, and was talking about using the run down tennis courts, as a backdrop for a Zombie based project! The tennis courts would be perfect since it looks like Zombies already must be playing there....:) Who knows, maybe Wagner Park will be famous now! LOL!!!! Robert Little (who is a professional photographer) also talked to them and could be part of this project too....Network baby...NETWORK! :) I will try to update any info if we actually make the Super Bowl! |
Also, Linda if you read this, Tony Ellis said you had a couple of guys at your store with 1/5th scales looking for someplace to bash/race....If you can get their contact info, please send it to me....DAY-O!!!!

Hi Ray,
Put a link of the video for the NY guys to watch and my contact (eventually others) seems to be very interested in visiting us during the racing season next year. I think that it is very good news.... |
