The GT8 Sportsman rule has been updated:
  • GT8 Sportsman: $20 Entree, 5Min QUAL. 20 Min A-main, 10 min rest. up to 4 pairs of tires allowed during the race (tires will be impounds during the race)
For those racers who is racing the sportsman class, please prep followings
  • bring 2 zip lock bags large enough to contains 2 pairs of your own un-damaged tires on each bag with your name on each bag.
  • please marked your name on each selected shore wheel with a visible color permanent marker along with necessary notes marked (FL, FR, RR, RL 1st set, 2nd set. 50deg, 45deg etc...)
After each runs, the sportsman racers will bring there GT8 machine to the impound area to take there tires off, sealed the bag and impound in designated area by the race officials. there will be 5 min extra breaks before and after a each of sportsman heats to allowed time to mount or unmount tires. only a visual inspection is allowed to find any damage (not wear) to allow extra set for the driver. but no cleaning or saucing will be allowed.

No tires shore swapping is allowed because of the weather changes or your setup changes. once the 4pairs are marked and impounded, it will be guarded by Phil Trotta.

Please be sure to know the limit of your own tires/Horse Power for the chassis. if your each set of tires are not lasting at least 20 min runs, you will need to mount a slower engine to win. you will need to finish first to aim it for 1st.

4 pairs rule is only for the races (QUAL, Mains). practice is not included. you may practice as much as you can with your spare tires.

Lets try this rule to create a cost controlled class.
