Short Course open(pro) class motor limit

Is there any other tracks that have a motor limit on the open short course class?
Our local track is planning on limiting the open class to 13.5, I am not a fan of the limit so I am looking for possible reasons if anyone has any.

depending on the size of your track a 13.5 is probably plenty.
Allowing lower turn motors makes the trucks hard to control for newer drivers and they will loose interest quickly if they are breaking parts and wrenching all of the time.

If you are a good driver, you should welcom the fact that your local facility is trying to keep things a level playing field and keep the new guys interested. You should be competitive with any power source if you are good.

If there is a motor limit then it isn't really open any more.

Yeah.I agree. It's like a spec class but with advanced timing.People if they already have a different motor and can't afford one. That will loose interest quicker.

I agree that the 13.5 is probably enough motor in some cases, but now you are going to penalize the heavier vehicles (slash ) that many people are still competitive with. At that point should they have to buy a new motor and truck to be competitive?

The other vehicles that might be competitive is either the Blitz ESE or Factory Team SC10.
