ORL2 INFO!!!!!

Okay gang, here's the deal.....

First, the race is on Sunday, July 11th and will be held at the Alpine Lounge in Williamstown N.J.

Practice will start at 8am and the first heat will start at 11am.

Entry will be $12 for the first class, 2/$20, 3/$25.

Second, We do have electric power, so bring extension cords and junction boxes. If you have a generator, please bring it to help with keeping the amperage up.

Third, I will need to get everyone to pre register by sending me an email with you class(s), personal transponders numbers, and frequencies. I will still accept registrations on race day, but this will save a LOT of time.

Send to: [email protected] and please put "ORL2" in the subject line. I'll send you back a conformation email.

Lastly, remember that this is an ORL2 event and class specs will follow ORL2 guidelines, so get the specs at their site www.OutlawRacingLeague.com

We're also running SJCCR classes, NasTruck and RTR Nitro Stock which will follow SJCCR guidelines.

More info coming later, so sTaY TunED!!!!!!!!!!!

Address is 2021 Black Horse Pike (Rt.42) Williamstown N.J. 08094

Best bet would be to get to the NJ Turnpike and head south and get off at exit 3.

Go to www.SJCCR.com and click on the "directions" link. It will give you detailed directions from there.

It's also do-able from the Parkway, but not sure exactly how.
Once you get to Atlantic City, you have to get off and take the Black Horse Pike northbound. Stay on Black Horse Pike about 25 miles until you get to the Alpine Lounge (on left). :)

BIG ORL2 NEWS.....BREAKFAST WILL BE SERVED!!!!!!!!!

You heard right!!!!! The fine folks at the Alpine will be hookin' up the breakfast grub next Sunday starting at 8:30am!!!!!!

I know a lot of people will be coming in early to get a good pit space, so the Alpine is offering a big breakfast deal of eggs, sausage/bacon, hash browns, toast, and coffee for only SIX BUCKS!

We all know how good their regular menu is, so bring a big appetite with you next Sunday!!!! They are doing this just for the ORL2 race, so let's support the place that has been our second home for the last seven years....The ALPINE BABY!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!!!

SJCCR Race Procedures.....

Just a heads up to anyone who will be coming to the Alpine for the first time or hasn't been here for a while....

Racers are required to use "personal frequency clips" when you practice on race day. Basically, a personal clip is nothing more than a clothspin with your name on it.

When you take the regular clip off the board, you'll replace it with your personal clip so we'll know who has the "regular" frequency clip.

Please use a plastic clip in order not to confuse the two. They come in cool colors and easy to tell them apart. I will have a bunch of blank clips on Sunday in case you forget to bring one.

Make a personal frequency clip part of your racing gear, not only at this race, but for any tracks you race at. Race directors will LOVE you for it...:)

SJCCR Race Procedures Pt 2....

Nitro racers:

We came up with a way to speed up the racing program and virtually eliminate nitro racers from breaking or flaming out before your race, by not allowing any warm up laps before your heat.

What will happen is that I will tell you when to fire up your cars, and give you a verbal countdown until the start of the race (usually two minutes)

You have the full two minutes to warm up your engines by holding them up
and revving up the engine. Or, you can wait till the one minute mark, the 30 second mark, whatever your preference may be.

Use this time to also pass you car over the loop to make sure your counting.

At the 10 second to go mark, please make sure you are on the grid because the race will start at the end of the two minute countdown timer.

This format has worked very well for us and every nitro driver will have an excellent chance to start the race without having to run back to the pits to re-start if an unfortunate situation happened during a warm up....
