Vintage Trans-Am in Arizona?
Would the U.S Vintage Trans-Am series revive the on road scene in Az?
I was talking to a friend about a vintage stock car body for a TC 4 and he told me that some guys from Gilbert were coming up to Flag to race their VTA style cars last weekend, I think they run at the Hobbytown in Gilbert. I think this would level the playing field as long as you have the cars tech'd before and after the race. What say you my fellow Az RC'ers ? www.usvintagetransam.com |
Thay do run them at HT, fun to watch and cool body styles. As to reviving on-road, who knows, I do know that the only place you can run them in the Phx area is at the Gilbert HT. Because thats the only place on-road is run:nod:

it is a cool class..they run them a lot inthe northeast..but again trying to get people to come out and race..it is nice 17.5 no boost..spec tires that last...and cool vintage bodies..but the onroad scene here need something to get it going

I think if you control price and you tech the cars, you should be able to attract both newcomers and more experienced racers back. If you want to go faster after awhile you can move up to the U.S GT series.
I see more companys bringing out spec esc's and motors, so maybe the sport is turning the corner so to speak  As for Az maybe HT and up in Flag can attract more interested folks :tire: |
Both HT and Flag are running on-road, so its not about reviving the scene just join in. If you want something to happen it starts with your participation, so shall we see you at HT this Sat for some VTA?
