8th annual Glenburnie hobbytown charity race

Alright guys and gals. We are hosting our annual charity race again this year. This is the 8th straight year we've held this event. All the entry fees go to a local charity of our choosing. The chairty will be decided by the date of the race. We normally end up raising around 1000-1500 in entry fees to go to charity. We are hoping to raise that amount this year. And would love to see your support out there. We will have a drivers only raffle for prizes. I will list vendors that donate when they come online. I am hopping that we have enough door prizes so that everyone will walk with something. Ok down to the details

When: Saturday September 18th The track will be up for practice around 9 with a start time schduled for 11. Registeration will open around 8:30 and close around 10 10:30 Were going to shoot for 3 heats and a main with a 3rd round re-shuffle

Where: Glenburnie Maryland Hobbytown USA parking lot.

Entry fee: 1st car $10 2nd car 4 canned food items 3rd car 4 more canned food items

Classes: Since this is for charity we will run anything we have 3 or more of but what we normally run is mini cooper, 4wd mini, Trans Am, Senior Spec, F-1 rubber or foam,Nitro sedan, 2wd Stock Slash or any other variant, Then modifiyed 4x4 Slash or variant. We are running mod sedan for sure. I would like to see 17.5 class

We will have food and drinks forsale as well there. food will be hamburgers and hotdogs. We will hae sodas and water and gatorade. All the profits will end up going to charity as well.

We are an outdoor track with no power. You will need a table, chair, ezup tent if you like. If you do not have a generator, no need to worry, We have plenty of local guys that will suppy you with power if you dont have one. We are a friendly bunch that will help anyone out.

Classes we run weekly:

Tamiya Mini Cooper
4wd mini
"Senior Spec"
Nitro Touring
2wd spec sct
4wd/open sct

I would definitely like to see some electric touring, lots of people have them, so lets get them out  Let me know what you guys want to do, I think the best thing would be 17.5/open esc, that is a pretty good speed for our size track, not too slow, and not overpowering

Also a note for the 2wd sct class: We normally run stock slashes, but we will allow any sct with the stock electronics (blitz rtr, strike, sc10 rtr, etc). Anything BL will run in open.

And like Dan said, 3 of any other class

would anyone be interested in mod touring?

chaos2984 08-27-2010 07:14 PM

im assuming your talking about 13.5 correct. if we can get more than 3 we will run it. I know gee would probably run 13.5 with you.

I'll be running my SS and 2wd mini at this event. I'm trying to muster up the courage to run my BL 2wd Blitz with the big dogs.

You should bring out the 416 :D They are at their home on a track like this

And incase anyone wants to know, the parking lot was repaved last week, and you could not ask for a better surface to race on

Now that you mention it, that doesn't sound like a bad idea. It'll be nice to see how I do on a bigger track. I'll try either 17.5 open OR 17.5 spec. Never ran 17.5 open so that could end in spectacular fashion.
