The LiPo and 17.5 only have about 1 season worth of runs on them. The 10.5 has only been used about half as much.
PM if interested.

mike and dan,
guys you should really look into getting a mini...they are so much fun... for me they taught me how to handle how cars push...its a learning experiance... help bring back the minis... its just for fun with them. its not competitive at GB its all for fun... try to get one guys you will have blast now that TC is going down to drain.

TCS #156 - Running my Mini
Hi guys,
I just picked up a Mini to race in the upcoming TCS event in Glen Burnie. I'm slowly putting together the roller with the appropriate electronics and parts to get it race ready. What would be a good tire/insert/wheel combo for the Glen Burnie's outdoor asphalt track?

For club racing they have been running mostly Sweep mini tires, 25's in the rear and 33's in the front .
As for tamiya tires like I told you at the "C" , base set-up would be Type A's in the rear and S-grips in the front with gray foam inserts. Then take another pair of A's and S-grips and build the S-grips with blue foam insert and the A's with a double stuff of touring car insert and foam . ( I will show you how to do those the next time I see you)

I picked up a M03R from a member on this board. I've been told that the roller is completely TCS legal with all Tamiya hop up parts.
The next time I'm at the 'C' I will go ahead and purchase a set of the Sweep mini tires for the club races.
After speaking to you at the 'C' I did look into the Tamiya Mini Type As and S-Grips tires. The Super Grip (#53254) tires I found were radials. However, the Type A (#53340) tires that I found were slicks. Just want to make sure that I wasn't looking at the wrong tires. I guess I was expecting all radials or all slicks. I also found 2 grey foams (#53204 and #53255). Unfortunately, I could not find a blue foam.
I'll keep looking for the blue foam insert.

Yes you are correct A's are slicks and S-grips are radials. Front wheel drive cars will and can run interesting tire combinations!!!! The two gray inserts you found are correct , one is a standard insert and one is a firm insert, both work well. The firm one is better for the A's and the other for the S-grips. And yes the soft blue one's are hard to find .
HPI has all kinds of different foam inserts to try.
Mini is all about the tires and inserts !!!!
