Default Please keep me posted

I don't usually disclose anything like this but, I knew Jon for a long time before R/C we did the slot cars racing together. He was a master in that sport as well and icon on building and winging electric motors. I use to race r/c cars with Jon back-in-day when real grass roots of r/c in Maryland. We were running a RTR corvette made by non existing company in 1984. And than we went to 1/12 scale electric and than it was the glen burine 1/8 scale gas club and the New Jersey 1/8 scale gas regionals. He was always helpful, he was knowledgeable, he was competitive, and he was sleeper.......you knew he was coming if you were ahead of him in a race. He appeared to the most as unorganized but most intelligent person to meet. Needless to say that it I it would be honor to be an attendee to this race in August so please count me.

I only had the privilege to know Jon for 2 or 3 years but he was great and helped me and everyone else that ask or needed it. Jon did look disorganized but he took a car that was two series old and kicked everyones butt just goes to show that the driver is more important than than the latest chassis, and he did this in all three classes. That's why we want to give a special triophy for the person finishing the highest overall in all three classes this will be the Jon laster trophy and a special one to have. Rick

One of my best memories of Jon was after racing against him for years, there was one occasion when I actually beat him. We raced hard against each other, side by side and exchanging positions for what seemed like forever. I came out on top and after the race (while tearing down the track) he came to me with a big smile on his face and told me how much he enjoyed racing with me. That simple gesture is something I will never forget.

The Flyer looks great. I can't wait to be a part this race to celebrate the life of a great guy. We have some pictures from John throughout the VORRA years and we would be proud to put an album together to share with all attendees.

Didn't know you weren't doing a 17.5 class for this Rick. I guess we won't be attending then. Good luck to all.

Paul If we have the cars to support the class we will run them. Right now we have one 17.5 showing up occasionally. We can run it if we have the cars. Rick

There seems to be interest in a 17.5 class we will run them if we get enough cars. I will try to get it on the flyer but might be too late. Rick
