Default Hitec Race 2002 2-day?

Hey all,

I need your feedback. This race is getting almost too big for a one day event with 217 entries... In fact I think we had almost 100 people out just on Friday night to practice on a poorly lit track!

I know we got done at a reasonable time but many complained they felt rushed.

What if it didn't start until Sat morning and there was a long practice session then two rounds of qualifying, and on Sunday one round and the mains with gas mains being up to 30 minutes for the A's?

Yea or ney?!?!

Give me your feedback or any other suggestions you might have.

Just in case you haven't seen the pics check them out at: http://www.hitecrcd.com/race/hitecrace2001.htm

Mike.

Hey Mike I can give that a shot!!! One suggestion, is to start a little later on Sat. so the guys coming from LA can get a room just for that night!! Not having the expense of getting a room for two nights would be a lot easier on our wallets!!

I agree with RTO and you can even have Double or Triple mains on Sunday. That would really rock!!!! 2 Qualifing heats on saturday and 2 or 3 mains on Sunday.

what do you all think. if we are going to be there 2 days, might as well get in as much racing as possible.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the feedback guys. That is the whole idea... I mean it is practically a two day race anyway. I don't know about triple A-mains though, maybe in expert only, but the gas mains would definitely be longer.

The only problem I see is that the racers would have to stay overnight. I guess if they wanted to they could just come on Sunday for one round and the mains.

What if we ran electric on Sat. and Gas on Sunday?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Should we have concourse next year?

Mike.

Mike not a bad idea spreading it out, but then it would just be one day for electric and one day for gas. Some people would be there for 2 days and others just one day. For example at the current time i only run electric and would only race on 1 day. And that may change because of the TC3 Nitro, but that is a different story.

Why only triple mains for expert? Not everyone is an expert, dont forget about the little guys that keep this sport going. I would say that is a bad idea, but i am only one person.

Talk to you soon,

Concourse would be pretty cool. There are alot of talented painters out there and it would be nice for them to show off their creations.
I know we touched on the subject of an endurance race... Since it would be two days maybe Saturday morning could be endurance race followed by qualifiers for the mains on Sunday?
NO, We are not trying to kill you

The track was also very dirty. I know that you guys cleaned it, but was the dirtiest track I have raced on. Not b****ing about it, just mentioning it to make it better next time for us.
