What days/times do you guys race? Just Fridays?
Do you think the track is big enough for 1/10th GTP-style Pan Cars? I could probably bring you a class of those every once in a while out of our regualrs in the class at SoCal Raceway after the NORRCA Nationals in Vegas. |
Friday Races
we race on friday nights starting at 8. i am just speaking as a racer that would like to see more people down there. it's not as fun with only three cars at a time on the track. so, you might want to call the track (619.447.9814) during open hours and inquire just so you don't waste a trip. i think the hours during the week are m-th 6:30 - 10:00 and fri 4:30 - end of racing.

Wether it br Sedans, Pans, etc. Which i why i made my previous statement. On the other hand I know of three experienced R/C racers that have/do run 4cell 1/12 mod there. And they seem to enjoy it a lot. IMO this is the perfect place for the upcoming microRS4. I have seen them run in a video that HPI has posted on their site and the performance seems to look ideal. |
We are open 7 days a week, our summer hours are, M-Th 6:30pm - 10:30pm, Fri 5pm - 10:30pm, Sat - Sun 4:30pm - 10:30pm. RC racing Friday night start @ 8pm, we can add other nights if needed. Slot car racing Thursday night World 12's @ 7:30pm, Sunday Outlaw 16 wing's @ 7pm. Our track is 40x60 carpet, as of now the track is fairly simple. We can run Off-Road with use of wood ramps. 1/12 runs around 50-60 laps in 8 min heats/ mains, sedans about 33-38 in 5 min heats/ mains.

What are the dimesions of the track and the lane width? Years ago, we ran on a pretty small track in downtown Riverside so I'm just trying to get an idea of how small is small.
Some of our guys are itching to try carpet so that's why I'm asking. |
Need More Racers
Support R/C Car racing in San Diego.
If you have a 12th scale pan on-road car we need more Racers to race Friday night at El Cajon R/C Raceway in El Cajon. We have expert class and novice class. Race either 4 cell mod, or 6 cell stock 8 minutes. The setup is use purple foam in front, and pink foam in the rear. The trick for carpet racing is to turn your steering as low as possible, and to sauce your tires both front and rear very good. I have a Associated RC12 L3 and the car is dialed. If you have any questions about setup for this car you can ask me. Another trick is to have your diff as lose as possible. If you have a 10th scale sedan car we need more racers to race Friday Night at El Cajon R/C Raceway in El Cajon. We have Stock class, Mod class And novice class. All they need is 3 racers to have a class. I race the mod sedan Class and I am here to tell you it is just great fun. The trick setup for stock class you must run the right tires. The best tires for both Stock, and mod class is the YOK 138 G2 tires with the medium inserts. Or for Mod class you can run foam tires. The best setup for this is purple in front and Pink in the rear. For gearing use the same gearing for stock or mod. If you have A 78 spur use a 19 pin, a 81 spur use 20 pin, a 86 use 23 pin Etc. Use must Sauce your tires very good. If you have any question you can ask me. I have a very good time racing at Friday night, and the racers there are very good people. If you need any help just Ask anyone there. Friday night doors open a 5 pm El Cajon Slot car and Raceway. Sherman Worley |
