Psycho Nitro Blast (Indoor ‘round-the-clock race) Atlanta, GA Feb 1-3 ‘08
Get some sleep now, because you are going to need it for the Psycho Nitro Blast. Imagine a large indoor arena hosting a Nitro Off-Road race which will start on Friday with 24 uninterrupted hours of practice followed by 4 rounds of 10 minute qualifiers on Saturday which will run also run through the night. Then early on Sunday the race will proceed directly into the longer-than-usual mains. One hour mains for Buggy and Truggy, and 45 minutes each for Sportsman Buggy and Monster Truck. All other mains will be at least 10 minutes. Lots of door prizes. Lots of other surprises. The goal is to make this a race that you will look forward to year after year. Please get more details at the event website Psychonitroblast.com

Okay Psycho Brethren, we have been pretty secretive about the track
and its features up until now. We will crack the door of secrets a
little bit over the next couple of weeks just to get you super jacked
about the race, so check in every now and then to see what else might
be out.
Today's little nugget: The largest jump on the track is something
special. Instead of the regular face, it will be perfectly radiused.
This means that your car scrubs off very little speed when contacting
the ramp. With this ramp, not much speed is needed to jump over 15
feet in the air and over 45 feet of distance. With a real head of
steam we have jumped 60 feet in distance. I have no clue how high the
car actually goes, but it is WAY up there. You will likely jump
higher and farther than you have ever jumped before. The take-off
angle is significantly more than 45 degrees, so the "loft" is very
high. All major jumps will be 16 feet wide.

A couple notes:
1.) Please check back on this coming Monday when we let out one of
the big secrets about the track. Gonna be sick!
2.) Jon Martin, the owner of Carolina's RC and the owner of
RCRaceRegistration.com has previously advised me that the vast
majority of people wait until the last two weeks before any particular
race to register. Being that the registration total is over 175 at
this point, please be careful and do not wait until the last second
and miss out. Remember that the limit is 400 entries.
Bobby and I have basically finalized the track layout...OHMIGAWD!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know how awesome the sponsors of this
event have been. There are several thousand dollars worth of the best
quality of prizes and gifts you could ever ask for. From actual race
caliber vehicle kits to radios to tires and hop-ups and on and on. A
big thanks goes out to all of them. We will talk about our sponsors
and what they bring to this hobby much more at the race. See you all
there.

Right now RCRaceRegistration.com shows 180 confirmed registrations.
That number is really more like 190 after scanning down the
registered/unpaid list for people that I know have paid. The
combination of the registered/paid and registered/unpaid lists gets
registrations to 264 at this time plus there are approximately 6 other
registrations that I know of, bringing the total to 270 at the
moment. Assuming that people who have registered and NOT paid
actually pull the trigger and pay... there are only 130 spots
available. That may sound like a bunch, but in scanning through the
list I see that there is a very large percentage of locals in the
Georgia area alone that have not even registered yet....not to mention
the North and South Carolina hardcore regulars.
In the next few days, the registrations will come fast and furious
when people realize that the race they had planned on coming to
appears to be selling out. Remember that the max is 400. Please
register now if you have made plans to come to the race. I will feel
bad for anyone that misses the race because they thought that they
would be in for sure. Please keep in mind that if you have registered
but not paid, you do not have a confirmed registration and you will
lose the chance to race if the race fills up with paid entries before
you pay.
We will see all of you very soon. Together we are going to have a
great time.
