For carpet Tamiya Type-C with the Tamiya Blue insert is a good starting point. Build up a set and see what they do based on your driving style / track condition and adjust insert based on results.

I made the switch from Type-A's on carpet to Type-C's when they were first released and have not looked back. The Type-C's in GT1 & GT2 worked pretty well the last two years at my local event .

Had to add 63 grams to my 414 to get it up to minimum weight for GT1.

Lots of fun yesterday at the Regional event at MRH. They put on a good show (free breakfast!) and run a very clean and first class facility. Nice folks, too!

Casey Young and I renewed our semi-annual Clash Of The Mini Titans in the B Main, once again battling it out for the full 6 minutes and finishing less than a second apart. This time it was my turn to win, but it could easily have gone the other way. We've been doing that for just about 20 years now, but it never gets old. We're a little rusty (and the Clash used to happen at the front of the A) but it's just as challenging as ever.

Always great to renew old friendships and make new ones, but a BIG shout out to my Red Dot team mates Mark T, Chef Matt and Mr. SuperTuner himself, RayK.

what a great time we all had at the first TCS race for the 2104 season. A special thanks to Middle River Hobbies for hosting the event.

First time running a 21.5 and although I loved the pace of the motor and clearly faster than a silver can, I hope Tamiya releases a "spec" brushless system (both motor and speedo) for use in Mini class.

Found it ironic for a fuel on-road guy to need a temp gun to tune a Mini. Gotta laugh at the fact that one of the guys I drove down with had his motor overheat and thermo sensor shut down his car.

Fred, good call on 21.5 versus 17.5.

I asked this over in the FF03 forum but maybe this would be a good place for an answer as well. On the FF03, what is the lowest gear ratio you can get and still run the factory gear cover, as per TCS rules? I have a 72t 64p spur but the smallest pinion that will work with that is a 58, leaving it at like a 3.2 or so. of course with this big of a pinion the cover doesn't fit, or even come close, so what are you guys running?

Glad to see the good Dr. is running the mini in TCS again! We'll have to catch up in the near future.

Jack not only is The Good Doctor still at it He looked very impressive in the Mains! He even made an Emergency Visit with his complete Nursing Staff to assist our Main Driver with his mini. He had him back on the track in less than a minute which we are very greatful for!!!

Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun. I wish I could make all of the TCS races and the final.

The body seems to be out of stock everywhere I'm looking. Also the Tamiya USA website says it's discontinued am I missing something?

Check amazon. I saw some on there. Raybrig 2007 NSX.
Other options are audi R8. Or the newer ferrari body that was realeased last year.

I have the R8 but have not painted it yet so I can not coment on it.

Is there any interest in the FF03 class here in California?
