I am still amazed that GT3, historically one of the most popular classes, has been eliminated. If Tamiya wants to give back, give that class back.

Congratulations to Eric at "The Track" in Winthrop Harbor. He will do a great job.

So it just dawned on me that Hibeki has been very quiet during all of this.
He must be tuning up the wambulance for a banzai run.
On another note, I have a high level of confidence that come race#1 a lot of the whiners on here will be on the grid.
Yes you read it right, I think all of this crying about quitting is BS
I will put $50 on it I am that confident

After qualifying, everyone pulled their motor, put it back in the box, and wrote their name on the box.

Right before the mains, everyone chose a motor, with the last qualifier choosing first, etc., so naturally the bottom three picked the top three's motors, and the top three ended up with the bottom three's motors.

Guess what? At the end of the day the top three were still the top three.
And by the way, it was some of the closest, most awesome fun I've ever had RC racing.

What ever is going to be done needs to happen soon.

If they want any significant participation this year in this economy they should consider the above, I don't think there will be much interest if a 1 series type system is the choice.
Agreed, & I'd be DELIGHTED to run that way, GT1 should be the fastest guys & it shouldn't matter as much what ESC is used(it was meant to be a mod class, at least in the beginning), & USVTA rules would work great for GT2 imo. It simply doesn't make sense to leave out everyone that runs on a limited budget, but already has gear that will work with THE RIGHT RULES...

Maybe it is.
For me personally, it really does not matter anymore, I had my fun.
I know where my feelings are on the rules and know what I will and will not promote. Not everything is forever, Trackside's 1st TCS race was mine too, I am not upset they switched to dirt. If I quit TCS, it will not be posted here it will also NOT mean that my racing has come to an end.

If I had to guess what is going to be used this year I would lean towards a list of Spec Systems. Novak,Speedpassion, Lrp spec system. As long as they are all ROAR approved Spec. systems they will be allowed. As for Tekin, I think they screwed the pooch when they had the Version 208 that was supposed to be non- adjustable when it wasn't, so even though the 212 is ROAR legal I don't think it will be on the list for TCS.
I just don't think there is enough time to distribute the Tamiya systems and allow time for testing and set-up!
Just my 2$
Hey Kevin,
Are you doing the Toys for Tots race this year? I think me and Tim are doing it again this year.
Hi Max,

I am passing on T-4-T race this year. I have a Sunday afternoon ice hockey game so would miss the mains so does not make sense for me to come out Saturday to run two qualifiers and miss Sunday.

With my local track hosting an event now, I'll be on the grid for F1.

Buying a $200+ 1 race only brushless system just aint gonna happen, which was my fear from day 1 reading the new rules.

Default Here comes the whaaaambulance...

For me to run GT1 this year, I'll have to buy:

New tires ($45/set)
BL Combo (Ill be conservative and say $250)
New body since the restrictions have been lifted ($40)

Almost $300 to get my car up to spec to run a free race... as much as I love TCS and all my friends that are heavy into the series, I think I will have to bow out until the rules open back up for the electronics.

Back in the day when I first got into this, GT1 was simply in line with ROAR rules for 19t.. why can't it be the same now and be inline with the superstock class (17.5/boost), this is fast enough for the fast guys, but not uncontrollable for the mid level racer wanting to step up. GT2 could be the ROAR sportsman class. This way you have easily identifiable class separation, your casual club racer doesnt have to spend an arm and a leg to get into TCS, and the hardcore TCS guys dont have to spend the same to run other events. But that would be too easy I suppose...
