Default The price of "spec"

With the new "Spec" B3 tire package at $ 45.00 / set and a possible "Spec" motor / esc combo...

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXANGV&P=7

I hope all those people crying for a "spec" series this last few years will be lining up to buy, buy, buy as they are getting what they asked for.

I get your point, but I don't think anybody asked for a spec BL system that costs 2-3x what others do.

imo.

There are a few dodgy BL systems out there, and for the most part, the best 3 or 4 are very similar in pace.

I know this would be a hard pill to swallow for the TCS racer that doesn't purchase the "right" brand, and it's why it will most likely be a one-make spec system for all.

My guess is, whatever the choice, it will be somewhat reasonable.

Thumbs up $$

If thats a clue as to the price.. Sounds good to me. Not bad for Motor and Speedo.

its comparable...

i just hope motor and speedo are available separately as well... dont want to have to buy a new speedo when the motor goes poof.. or vice versa..

Looks a little pricey for a limited use ESC and motor. Pricing should be closer to what Speed Passion's price is for a ESC motor combo. If it was in that price range it would be an easier pill to swallow especially when you need to buy a 2nd one for a son's car.

That is ROAR legal and can be used for turbo or non-turbo and competitive at any race at any track.

Complete system:

Which is higher than this:

.....that you can return to the manufacture for repairs or warranty if any problems and get tech help from. Hopefully the Tamiya system will have "comparable" service too.

Not even if you take me to dinner, buy me jewelry and take me to a show are you gonna get me to consent to that type of abuse!

Are you guys really gonna go for this?

Possibly if it was a usable system in the real world.

If it's a no go from enough uf us it may go differently?

Holy schnikeys!

If that's the price, I think the turn out for TCS Series will be real thin, unless Santa is real nice this year. But, based on todays economy, I doubt it!
If I had to guess what is going to be used this year I would lean towards a list of Spec Systems. Novak,Speedpassion, Lrp spec system. As long as they are all ROAR approved Spec. systems they will be allowed. As for Tekin, I think they screwed the pooch when they had the Version 208 that was supposed to be non- adjustable when it wasn't, so even though the 212 is ROAR legal I don't think it will be on the list for TCS.
I just don't think there is enough time to distribute the Tamiya systems and allow time for testing and set-up!
Just my 2$
Hey Kevin,
Are you doing the Toys for Tots race this year? I think me and Tim are doing it again this year.
