I'm one of those weird guys that runs for fun, not for a trip to Japan (not that I've got a chance either, LOL).
I am definitely running GT2. I made the investment in the class over the last 12 months. I have a Tekin (like it or not, it is an amazing little black box). I am not a Japan contender and I want to go fast

That's my story and it's not gonna change.

Honestly, unless it's a killer buy at $50 or less, don't spend your money on a Evo IV. They were a good car once, but frankly they've been outclassed by newer stuff. Also, if you shop around you could get a very good deal on a belt car. The 415's are still pretty competitive, and there's been a few racers bringing 416's to the track to sell lately, but at prices comparable to Tamiya's "Closeout" price on an Evo IV. And, an TA05IFS car can be had cheap if you shop around too, and is still competitive. Can be dialed in at TA pretty easily and would make for plenty of fast fun laps.

Then again, there's the FF03. It's not cheap, but at Speedtech's price, it's not expensive either, and it's great bits of chunky fun.

O, when are you bringing your FF out? I ran mine with Dave last weekend. Handling is GREAT, but with his mountain-motor gearing, he would pull me 2 car lengths on the straight. I had a "Granpa" silver can to his out-of-the-box motor. This weekend, I will have a Porsche body so will be completely TCS-spec. If you want, you can borrow my crazy Acura RSX body (also Tamiya) if you need one to run.

Sweeeeeeet. BTW Dave was gearing his car with an 88 and a 61, went as high as a 63 before his motor temps became a concern. So I've ordered some more pinions. Chris, you need a car body, or you got one? Le' me know. O, looking forward to having my butt kicked by the best. I'm actually going to take mine over to West Coast tonight, Porsche body and all, and run some practice laps.
