Went to a happy hour before the mains

I could have run older tires and the car may have been more mellow to drive. On Saturday, I ran the soft option tires thru three 15-20 min runs and the were still okay. Not awesome but manageable.

Default Party at Fred's house

OK, now my turn to gush.

Thanks to Fred, George, Dave Jun, Roger, Gary, and the nice lady (whose name I always draw a blank on) who was ill and put up with us all, for a smooth and even day in tech. And I say we take up a collection and get Fred a new computer that doesn't keep doing the "blue screen of death" after startup. I'll kick in a few grickles for that. Great prizes/raffle too, Fred, but really, next time I expect to win something, or else no more Starbucks for you.

Thanks to Don Passehl, Oliver Clipper, Chris Lim, Danny Eggar, and Kevin CBK for all their help in figuring out a typically-warped setup. Oh, and the chassis was warped, too. You guys really put in a lot of effort solving the usual ham-fisted Tom Slick setup. Nobody may think that seventh place was much to boast about, but given how my GT2 ran on Saturday, I felt like a big weiner, I mean winner, on Sunday. And I get a big kick out of thinking I can run with Chris, Oliver, Orlando, Kevin, et. al.

Thanks to Steve, Chuck, Granpa, Kevin Niino, Danny, Brandon and more for all their kind words and encouragement in running Mini. I'm gonna figure this car out, and then I'll chase all you guys home! Now if I can just figure out how Arthur outqualified me..with my own car..and only ran one qualifier. For God's sake! Mini class rules. I can't believe how competitive that class is. Like Sprint Cup without the accents and inbreeding.

Dave Bird is my newest hero, for producing some special stickers to help make an Ebbro 350R look a lot like my favorite sports prototype. I promise to clean that sucker up, reapply the decals, put the wing endplates back on, and make it incredible. (Mark, can I have the other wing endplate back as soon as you're done?)

Mark, I was prepared to call you Alonso from now on for that 7th-to-first scramble. You're going to do it someday, and I hope to be there to shake your hand when that happens. Granpa: ditto.

Rod, thanks for revealing your setup. I'll be trying that as soon as I can get me hands on some option tyres. And I have some more ideas about how to get rid of the front-end chatter practically all the rubber-tyre cars had. I still think it's the sidewalls, though.

So glad to see old friends like Steve Wang, Tony Tan, the Flying Valles, Igor "I can go play tennis on Saturdays and still run Mini faster than you", Johnny Pun, Bad Santa, 414MPH, and more. Thanks to the Tolmasoff "Unorthodox Russians" for pitting by me and spending money to help my shade issues as well as keeping me grounded. Alex will be fast someday, oh yes, he will be fast. But not fast enough to beat me.

Now I just need to know what the rules are, and what Fred's plans for motor for GT2 are, and I can make up my mind what Nationals class to run. Thanks to everyone for a great time! I wish we had the time and money to get the gang back together a lot more often.

Mark, I missed seein it live yesterday, outstanding!
Charles, brought it to life with the camera, amazing!

Rtype, thanks for takin the time to put all the setup stuff into words.

That's pretty intense, hope I can get it close.

Actually, sounds like a lot of work.
Anyone want to buy an F104? hahahahaha

May be tough to wrap my head around it right away, you guys may know how much I love F1 on rubber.
NOT!

Gonna be tough to go from the "monkey can drive it" car to a "throttle-steering input-corrections"... type of car.

I've got it built but bone stock out of the box 100% and it aint the Pro 104 either.
I've got some work to do and some parts to score!

Happy Hour might have been better for your tires than your nerves...

What servo did you end up running?
