Could anyone lend an opinion as to whether the Protek Sport Race Lipo batteries are legal for TCS use? They have a lexan hard case, thus complying with the "molded plastic case" requirement in the rule package. They're awfully inexpensive!

Default the quest for speed pt.2

hit the track this past saturday.. thought i'd play with the timing ring on the can (which we werent allowed to do last year for TCS) to see if i could cme anywhere close to staying with the pack... lo and behold i didnt get yarded as much.. but still lacking some legs. talking to some of the guys in the pits i was trying to chase down.. some were playing with the boost on, some werent. needless to say the chase is still on..

i think the only chance us cry-babies have is to be allowed to play wih the timing ring on the can. i wonder if that will be allowed..

good luck to all.. and see you's in the 'A'

That's not quite what the rules say, which is why I brought this up. It refers to the ROAR list as "a guideline" but then specifies that lipos with a hard plastic case are the only ones legal to use. <--- pun intended

Did you 2 bust up your 416x's bling aluminum turnbuckles on Saturday?

Anyway, any turnbuckles are legal. In previous year rules, they said screws are free to replace, and TCS racers interpreted that turnbuckles are also screws. This year they specifically added turnbuckles.

From the General Rules:
18. Lightweight screws or adjustable turnbuckles that are made of aluminum, steel or Titanium that are made by other manufactures are allowed. i.e. any screw or turnbuckle is legal. (Be aware! If you win the National title down the road and head over to Japan for the Tamiya World Championships, all screws and turnbuckles must be TAMIYA only!)

"All car bodies must use the kit supplied ABS wing or Tamiya option wing (53470 or 53604). The option wings may only be used if the body has dimples already marked for the option wing mount."

I think the racing one is 53604.
