Now for GT-2, I think it is safe to say speeds are getting close to if not soon passing old GT-1 (probably faster than the 2 year old 10.5 systems). GT-1 is gettign closer to open mod. The forums will be very "active" this year as each regional race passes. Will be very interesting to see what Sir Medel cooks up for the Nationals for us.
Scotty @ Trackside mentioned last week at the Hurricane All Star race...saying the SS13.5 is now called "THE NEW MOD" and using 5.5T motor is ILLEGAL on Super Stock Racing...(hint, speed looks as fast as 5.5 mod motor when the 13.5 was used on some crazy software).

I believe the quote was "Jimmy, you know that this is the 13.5 class not 5.5"

I'll say that 13.5 with Type A's and a Tamiya body will sure be "interesting" compared to the RP30 / Speed 6 setup I was running on the carpet

Default GT 3 batteries

What's the battery of choice for GT-3 now that we are limited to 3400s.

'getting faster' is fine.. as long as no one has to spend extra money to get faster, over the next guy in the same class. or in the case of a TRUE SPEC class (GT2) lets make sure there is no clear advantage to those who can 'afford it' over those who cant afford it... happened last year, hate to see it happen this year, again.

You are correct, it did happen last year and the people that bought the SPX did have the advantage last year in GT-1 and GT-2 over those that did not but we did not see the "world of TC racing will come to an end" debates last year like we are seeing this year.

Marty - beat me to the bunch. I was going to give the same answer. In fact, Mr. Tom has my 3400 Orion from last years Nats "on loan" to run GT-3 at the February Aliso Regional.

...

I spoke up last year... I'm speaking again this year..

Not speaking about the "world of TC racing"... Just the TRUE SPEC GT2 class in the TCS Series.

Correction, this WILL NOT happen before Omaha as they aren't even officially announcing them until next weekend. However, everyone will be on the same playing field.

I'd really like to run the 104 rubber class, but at the same time, if it's gonna be the 2010 Tournament of Spinouts, I'll wait for Trackside

If they are truly like Bs they should work decent. The traction has been higher in Omaha than it was at last years TCS.
