Default F1 is cool

SCD, nice job on the F1 video. Really nice.

How'd you finish today?

My day was terrible.
Yesterday perfect, today, blowout.

Today was almost a lonely day.

2nd round, only 3 of us raced. After the one minute mark, two guys already dropped off. One lost a part, the other no traction. And I was all alone and I couldn't focus at all due to wind blowing my eyes. And only 2 of us in the main. Had a good start but thanks to the wind blowing to my eyes again, I had to make a pit stop and finished 2nd. Oh yeah, that was fun.

That's too bad, seems like the whole day was a bummer.

Really wanted to have a good time and really tried to get cars sorted but it just wasn't gonna happen.
Couldn't figure out why my 2 cars that work great sucked so bad while others seemed to get around ok.

Reminder to TCS Racers traveling to attend the event in Glen Burnie, MD in under 2 weeks!

If you are in need of a room, please let me know via pm ASAP! If we are able to book 10 or more rooms, the recently renovated La Quinta is going to offer a discounted rate. I need to be able to provide this info to LaQuinta ahead of time so we can get this discounted rate.

Thanks,
Robbie Dodge

If you're attending the TCS events in Glen Burnie (which I might add, is in only TEN DAYS !!! TEN DAYS !!! ) or RC Madness in CT, and need a fast silver can motor (note that both events have NO MOTOR LIMIT on silver can classes), shoot me an e-mail at [email protected].

We have a production run this week that's mostly sold out, but there are still some left. Speak now or go slow , because we won't have another run until the end of August.

Thanks!
Doc

What happened to the Hickman hauler at the Aliso TCS race?

Did it get a flat tire or did the parking situation make it diffucult to get full hauler support?

Usually Bruce is 1st or top 3 and Steve is somewhere around there.

my guess is 5 mins.

because in the rules it says...
"The following classes will run 1 single 8 minute main event:
GT3
F1"

Yep, sad but true. I'm just not up for all the "motorama-drama".

GT2 is more my speed this year. Just charge and drive!

With everything being equal, the current NA rules favor that the TRF414 will be the car to beat. ... a balanced 50g advantage. This explains why there was a lot of used TRF414 sales activity before and after last year's TCS Nats. The 1350 g min weight just reinforces this advantage and to the experienced racers luckily to have one.

Sorry, we are staying home this year.

?

I'm a GT-3 guy and I have no experience with the 41x line, but is the 415/6 that heavy? My TT01 / TA05 / Non-Tamiya carbon fiber high end cars all are race ready in the upper 12xx gram range and take an obscene amount of weight to get up to the 1400 gram range. It makes the car feel like a lumbering boat. The amount of weights is so bad I can't understand why the rules continue to set the weight limit so high.

I was planning on running GT-3 at the nats, but thought that with all the weight I have to add to get the car to a lumbering 1400g I might just stick with Mini and get rid of the 100+ grams I added to meet the 1300g limit for the regional and run near the 1200g limit for the nats.

I'm similarly surprised. I just assumed that the later 415/416 models were featherweights compared to the older stuff. I have a brandy new 414M2 in the box that I intend to use as a 17.5 car this winter with a bunch of spares. You're welcome to borrow it, optimize it & win with it if that's what it takes for Randy to go to Japan. Lord knows the kid has the talent.

Like RB, I'm a GT3 guy and my tub cars are way light even without any titanium hardware. My TA04R sits at 1325 before adding weights, and my TA05 isn't far from that. Maybe the brushless motor and ESC is a little heavier?
