(edit: Wow, now Tower says they are out; I must have caught just the right window.)

I was going to get the 15Yr F103R but didn't know when it was going to be released. When I saw on the Horizon site that it was expected in Feb, and since the AV race was the 1st week of March last year, I decided I should go for what's available. I ordered it on Tue and I got it on Thur; pretty fast. Turned out good now that the 1st AV race is late Jan.

I built it last night, all was very similar to the F103GT except for the very very strange design of putting the diff's thrust bearing and cone washers into the right wheel hub. What's with that? Do I have to disassemble the hub to move the bearing and washers every time I swap tires? What were they thinking? I'm going to look and see if the F103GT design can fit into the RM cause the way it looks now appears to be a pain!

The new rules say "GT-2 will adopt 8-minute main events". Can I assume that the GT2 qualifying heats will be still 5 minutes?

Otherwise, "Change is good". 10.5 for GT1 (or just for the AV track) and I will send you a Xmas card.

Dont be greedy!
I think we all owe Tamiya huge props for not only getting a great rules package and unprecedented schedule out (and early nonetheless), but for truly listening to the racer community at large and putting up with all the whining that goes on on this thread.
Many thanks to Fred, Gary and the rest of the crew( even you Larry wherever you might be)

Oh one more question/complaint, when will F103 bodies and out of stock parts be available? I am trying to spread out my purchases
If there is a shortage of parts, the F1 class will fail just like 103GT

Thanks Tamiya for getting the rules and schedule up!

One question on the Motor fan rules?

It is said "No more than 2 fans in a vehicle".
Some ESCs (Novak) use a fan does this count as the 2 or is the 2 only indicating those used for the motor?
Might need a clarification in the rules on this.

Thanks in advance.

I am sorry but when i get cought and get 4 car lengths on me on the straight alone, that has nothing to do with driving skills. And if you are going to tell me its all corner speed your crazy!

I am glad to see mini GT cause we will see who is really fast when the silver cans are gone from the mini cars. I can tell you already that guys who were super fast for years came to the novak race last year and were in the b and c mains cause it was a 17.5 motor instead of the stupid silver cans. That alone leads me to believe the motors have alot to do with who wins and finishes mid pack in the a main.

Well done Tamiya. It's nice to have a race organizer that actually listens to it's racers. Thank you.

Yep, great pics, George! Also looks like a nice turnout for the event.

Couple rules questions:
* for Mini, only Type A and S-grip tires permitted? No M grips, no kit tires?

* are 26mm wheels and tires specifically excluded from all sedan classes other than Spec?

M-Grips and kit tires MUST be legal...if not there are gonna be a lot of problems for a lot of racers!!
