A week removed from a long weekend at the TCS Finals working tech I just wanted to say congratulations to all the class winners. Steven Bortolotti, Tony Tam, and Dylan White; you all showed alot of dominance in your classes and I know you will do us proud in showing what North America can bring to the Worlds in 2008.

It was a very long weekend for those of us working the event and I know that you guys all made us work extra hard to keep things as even as we can and I think it worked very well. I wanted to take a minute to asy thanks to a few people:
  • Fred - for putting up with all the crap that TCS can bring and making the series have another successful season in 2008
  • Izzy, Ian, Rod, Alex, and John - thanks for giving up your weekend to help us in tech and allowing the event to run a whole lot smoother thanks to you guys....even if you didn't come back Sunday ROD!!!!
  • Tony Tam - for not only doing an amazing job with your race but also donating some amazing prizes once again to the TCS series
  • All Racers - just for being a great group of people who always are excited and happy to be racing in the series. It makes the long days a lot easier seeing everyone running well and having a good time!

2008 is over, and don't worry, we plan to make 2009 even better!

I know it's the off season but we can't let this thread die back to page 2. So, here are my suggestions for '09 rules.

GT-1 - Any chassis with max 3.5 motor and up to 5000mah LIPO's.
GT-2 - Tub chassis only with max 6.5 motor and up to 5000mah LIPO's.
GT-3 - Tub chassis only with max 13.5 motor and up to 5000mah LIPO's.
Mini - 10.5 brushless motor, max 3800mah LIPO's.
Spec - TT-01 and TL-01 only with max 13.5 motor and up to 3800mah LIPO's.
F103GT and F103 combined - max 10.5 motor, up to 5000mah LIPO's and GT or F103 cars get 1000 gram weight break for runing rubber tires.
Offroad - minimum 6.5 motors in any off road vehicle (including Tamtech) and any mah LIPO batteries.

These new rules will make all drivers "man up" and learn to handle the horse power. Unless you are a woman driver, then you get to show the guys you can handle more power than they can, that you regularly watch Tim Allen on Home Improvement, and the gus you beat should go back home and put their skirts back on.

Oh yeah, these new "rules proposals" are totally in jest for those who have not figured it out or know me well enough already.

For GT1 , my observation is last year lap time with the 23T is almost the same as the 10.5 brushless this year. So even if you increase it to a 3.5 brushless, the lap time will be the same.

The problem is not in the motor, but I think we are reaching the limit of the super duper grippy B3s. The new rule for GT1 should be foam tires with the 3.5 brushless.

We will definatly show everyone what north america is capable of. That's if the dont deport me as soon as i get off the plane. Just ask Fred aout how we gave everyone a run for their money last year. I think there are going to be some new rules put in place because of us.

Default my new ideas for TCS next year...

while we wait for the schedule....

GT1: 13.5 motors (since 10.5s go away per ROAR rules)
GT2: 17.5 motors

GT3 goes away... and gets replaced with F103RMHLWKLERJLMNSBGS class on FOAM tires. The reason GT3 can go away is the addition of BL. newbs that come from spec will get more "drive time" since they dont have to worry about silver can voodoo. that also makes the F103XX fans happy.

Mini: 17.5 i think was the suggestion for BL?
Spec: no BL. just hand out stuff.

FLAME away.

Got am email from Tamiya to take the TCS survey...

Dear TCS Racers,

Thank you for all of your support with the TCS racing series. It is because of you that the races are such a fun and exciting event. To best suit your personal Tamiya needs, we are conducting a survey. The survey will help us determine how best to inform you about our products and to get some feedback about TCS and other Tamiya products. Respondents will be entered in a drawing to receive a brand new TB-03 4WD Xanavi NISMO GT-R High Performance Racing Car. The car will include Hop ups!
Here is some information about the prize:

Took the survey.... I don't think I'll have to wait by the phone to see if I won the drawing.....

Didn't bash, just stated the facts..... As I see them....:sn eaky:

Put a 3.5 sticker on it and slap it in your 416 ! Oh yeah, there will be a new event added for the Tamiya Aliso track only. Longest distance launched from the kink. Height and style bonus points will be awarded.

IMHO:
Spec class should be a class packed full of true newbs and kids under 14. A promotional marketing push prior to each TCS venue is the best way to get new blood in the hobby, but I never hear/see too much about it at my LHS.

As I do not expect to ever touch GT1/GT2, your suggestions sounds as good as any.

Keep GT3. Make it a fixed gear ratio BL17.5 on a TA05 chassis. This would make it a "super spec" class. Faster than spec and with cars that handle better. A drivers class with an even playing field. More fun factor than GT1/2, less carnage than spec.

I would like to see F103xx taking drivers away from the "over crowded" mini class, not GT3.

F1: 21.5 motors, foam tires.
Mini: 17.5 motors

or 21.5's...I agree with all of your suggestions though.

Formula 1 cars = possibly silver cans.

Brushless and Lipos for the Gt and mini classes.

Spec...turn your silver cans in and get a random or Tamiya handouts...my 8 yr old is chomping at the bit to try this year!
