Team A-ko - 1st Annual TCS Nationals Contest!
Winners will get 1 FREE Tamiya TRF T-shirt! Sponsored by ME!

The Contest:
1) Pick anybody who YOU think will win in GT1, GT2, Mini and F103.
(names and picks can be duplicated ONLY 1 pick per class)
2) Pick a number between 1-75 for a tie breaker
(this is YOUR unique number that will break the tie using a simple system (which is a secret) and only 1 person can pick each number)
3) Scoring will be like Reedy. Your picks will get a 1 for 1st in the A, 2 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd etc. . .
4) Lowest score wins adding the 4 listed classes in "1)"
5) I will officially announce the winner, the winner will send me their mail info / shirt size and I will drop-ship a shirt to the winner's doorstep... very simple.

The Rules:
1) Only 1 winner.
2) Only 1 entry to a person. (no alts)
2) Only USA 48 states can play (not Alaska or Hawaii)
3) You must like Tamiya!
4) You can only enter in THIS thread.
5) Once you submit your entry into this thread, you cannot "edit" your picks. You will be DQed. So choose wisely!
6) Submission deadline will be 08-23-2008 (Saturday) by 10am (California Time). If you are late you will be DQed. I would suggest a Friday night submission.
7) Any loophole found within these rules, you will not pass GO and go directly to jail. . . . which could lead to addendums and more work. . .

Here is the list of names:
http://www.tamiyausa.com/articles/fe...article-id=358

Those that cannot make it in 08, this might give them something to do.
Those that can make it and still play, you better not be my picks....

Good Luck to all the Aliso and Armchair Racers! ! !

My picks:

Whatever I tell RC SCoring Pro to say
Would it be politically correct for me to speculate on this years possible winners? No. That would be wrong.

I do predict this. Everyone will have a good time as we are trying something new and my mic skills will keep everyone entertained

BTW: The most up to date entry list is now online on our Tamiya USA site.

Also: How about a big hand for all the guys that made the off-road track possible
Kevin
Max
Timmy
Alex
Christian
Craig
Tom
Mark
Yeah! Brandon too. He's going to finish it up tomorrow
Without all the locals help this past year the TA track would not be the same. Thanks guys!

Be sure to pre-pay for your spec batteries and motors to make Saturday go by smooth.

See you all tomorrow in the morning and late afternoon.

Default Speed Report - Thursday, Day 1

to all TCS racers who cant be at the track today....

The track was nicely prepped today. Nice warm typical socal day. warm, mid to low 80s.

The track was ran in the "normal" direction with a chicane added to the back straight before the esses.

Mini coopers were out in full force and courtesy on the track was in full effect. GT1 guys "playfully" dodged mini coopers on the straight and minis held their line. Except for the occassional "turbo boost" given by Troy Crabtree to fellow mini driver Kody down the straight (using my GT1 machine of course)... everything ran smoothly. A few kink launches (Kuney and myself... i cleared the board a few times )

The Weirs, John Christiansen, Brandon and few other locals were out testing their minis. In GT1, Norcal speedsters Marc (sp?) Mendoza and James Arluck were out testing their GT1 beasts. SIR GT1 pilots Kuney and Kevin Michellich were also out testing..... GT1 cars look like a ton of fun with the Tamiya track allowing the drivers to "unload" their 10.5 down the straight and flowing sweeper.

In GT2, Kevin Smith, Lee P, Steve Hickman, Mark H. along with Team Nemo, Tony Tam and Kevin Cole were all out testing their machines. Some nice "paint" schemes were out.

In talking to some "stopwatches"... it "SEEMS" High 15s are money for GT2. Low 15s for GT1 while Mini coopers I didnt get any data. I'd assume high 16s with the existing layout.

I met Team B&B. Sorry about the "verbal" abuse on rctech. But I'm pretty nice in person. Harmless really.

There were a few F103s... Bruce Hickman had his out and running well.

Team Canada had Corey Whiteman as a pit guy for the two Canadian drivers.

Body report:
GT1: mostly NSXs of various years. Most popular seems to be the "lightweight" 2004 and the ARTA.

GT2: HOLY COW EBBRO. Lots and lots of IFS cars. Mostly EBBRO bodies, an 2007 NSX (Team Nemo) and a ARTA Garaiya (Tony Tam) were spotted.

Mini Cooper: A fair share of original coopers and Suzuki swifts. And 2-3 Miata M04 bodies were spotted.

Tomorrow should be fun. More people will be out.. "more" testing and more people hiding their speed secrets.
Off road track is dialed. That class should be a lot of fun.

TCS Nationals has finally arrived!
