I'll believe that F103GT is being run at this years finals when I see it posted in the rules of the tamiya website.

Kevin are you for hire just in case?
I already know what the RPM limit is going to be its 1,i9-gl;vb vlskv5=r0p oh crap my keyboard is screwing up again.
Do the rules state that I can only use one motor?
What about Lipo's can I use 2 of em

Bring on the BOOBIES !!!
Sorry Brandon, affraid I will be working full time on my concourse entry for Nats. You know I can't drive wirth a darn so I have to find something in RC I am good at. Then I have new race bodies for the fish and I. Oh yeah, and an HKS Mercedes for a friend and the cab for a Tamiya 18-wheeler. Might just have to get a flat bed to "drive" the concourse car up to the grid area.

GT-2 and GT-3 are spec classes. Specific rules for chassis, motor and hop-ups. If someone wants to race with a lower cost TT-01 or TL-01 chassis in GT-3 vs. a TA or TB chassis, nobody is stopping them. They just need to expect to end up in the main that the persons budget and commitement to practicing and testing earn them.

I just noticed that GT-3 is also missing from the finals! Wassup with that?

Are the spec/novice rules subject to the hand out motors and RPM limits?

GT3 is not a Nats class

Good question for all of the 12 year olds with beat up TL-01"s that will be attending.

OK, but Andrew is a lot closer to this than any of us are. If it were me, I'd start tuning my 103GT and painting up a new body. You can bet that's what Marty, Anthony, and a bunch of other guys are doing.

WHAT ABOUT LAP DANCES??????????????????????????????????????
Yes, Lap Dances will be a Nats class. Are you practicing?

Run the F103RM with the 103GT's!!!!!

Tamiya Canada is running F103RM as an exhibition class at their Nats later this month.

Combine the classes or split 'em up if there's enough entries.

Default F103GT

I have to admit, I was a bit disapointed yesterday with the class anouncements. Once things came into perspective, I was all geared up to run my GT1 car and order parts and tires when I read the latest news posted by Andrew today, "F103GT will be Nationals class". This has been verified by Tamiya America. Andrew, thanks for letting the racers know.

What will the rules be? Lets all guess till they get posted.

The F103GT class at Nationals could use a more robust body.
Maybe:
EBBRO BTEC Maziora 350R
WILLCOM ADVAN VEMAC 408R
ARTA Garaiya
These would give the class a distinctive look and the bodies would hold-up a whole lot better.

A spec for batteries and motors would be very welcome for the Nationals. Since the Kit comes with a silver can Johnson, it would be great if the F103GT class used the same motor and rules as Mini, Johnson silver can with RPM and magnet madness torque limits. I'm open to any battery rule as long as it allows Lipo.

Lets all wait and see.........

Hey Robbie what is the weight limit for the mini class? Are any type of batteries permitted? Just wondering what I can use, for some reason my computer won't download the rules.

rccardr, I sent you a pm regarding the red dot motors. My email address is [email protected]. You can send me back a pm if you'd like. thanks

Why does Tamiya change the rules for the Finals?
Wouldn't be nice to have the Same Rules All Year.
Wish I could make it!
Good Luck to the Wisconsin TCS Racers!

Sam,

Mini's must weight 1300 Grams. You may run any hobby grade sub C cell (6 cell) battery or a 2 cell Orion/Peak 3200 Carbon Edition hard case lipo. No other lipo is allowed.

Anything else you need, let me know. See you there buddy

From what I've read I believe these are the Sub-C rules;

4. The batteries that are allowed for the 2008 season are:
a. Sanyo NI-CD 2400, Sanyo NI-MH HV 3000, 3300 & 3600
b. Panasonic 3000 Ultra Metal Hydride, Panasonic 3000 Stock Metal Hydride
c. GP (Gold Peak) 3300 & 3700, 4300, 4700
d. Intellect Batteries 3600, 3800 and LRP 3700, 4200
e. EPIC 3800, EP 4600.
f. LIPO batteries are legal for the following classes: F103-GT, GT-1, GT-2, GT-3, MINI and 4WD-Off-Road.
All TCS legal LIPOS must have a Molded Plastic, Hard Case!
Soft case packs are not legal for the TCS series at this point in time.

and from the Cooper specific rules;

12. New for 2008: The use of LIPO batteries is now permitted in this class, but due to the battery compartment having a rounded profile, the only legal LIPO for this class is the Orion/Peak 3200 Carbon Edition hard cased pack. Modifying the M-chassis to fit other hard case LIPO batteries is not permitted.
13. New for 2008: All M-chassis cars must meet a minimum weight of 1300 grams.

The theory is that at REgional events, you want rules that make it easier for anyone with a Tamiya car who wants to race to bring their car out and do just that, while at Nationals you are theoretically catering to the real racers who are putting their all in to get that trip to Japan. To find out who the best is, you want to make the playing field as level as possible. There is no way Tamiya could supply hand out batteries and motors for every event through the season.

I am glad to see people are happy that F103 was added back as a class but be aware.....now that we've added it, you guys better show up and bring your A-Game! We want to see more than 5 cars in this field at Nats!!!!!
