Yes due to the IFS body selection (i.e. the new NSX), we are doing away with the body rules. You can now run any Tamiya body other than the Subaru Legacy bodies.
*runs out to buy the new 2007 NSX body*

Andrew.. u coming out to tamiya again this saturday? your 416 drove nicely last sat. i think if you add the MazdaSpeed6 you'll be all set.

Yeah I am going to be out there with my 416 and my Mazdaspeed6 body actually! I am going to try to mess with a few things to add a bit more initial steering to it. I was shocked how well it drove the first time out. I will also be running around in a M04 Miata....don't ask. If you get that new NSX, let me know how it works!

Sadly F103GT is not included as there was again not enough interest in the class to make a competitive field. last year we only had about 6 cars at Nationals. I will check to see how a top-10 in one class can qualify you for another.

well then should I assume you guys won't offer this class next year at regionals as well?

Does that mean F103RM will be the new class?

i cant help feel like there's a void from the good old days in not seeing a current F1 class. i think it'd also help if Novice Spec was more 'spec' than 'novice'

just .02

It is too early to speculate what classes will be around come March next year. We have over 6 months between the last race of 2008 and the first race of 2009. Who knows what new products Tamiya will come up with by then!

There are no plans as of now to have the F103RM a class in TCS next year. Things can always change, but as of now that is not in the plans.

So, if I was in the top 10 in the F103, does that qualify me for a spot in the finals in another class? I guess I could join the in mini masses. The 1/10 Off-road class is looking kind of interesting.

I tried NOT to post again about the F1 class but why are people surprised that Tamiya is not supporting it? It seems a lot of people like the class but no on wants to run it. I've tried to get it running in the Virginai/DC/Maryland area but could not get enough people to run in it....

I think the F103 class would be a good low budget class if they would allow any Tamiya TC body.

THANK YOU!! Another opportunity to demonstrate my (lack of) skills with a direct drive chassis. It has been mentioned before, but if the class is opened up to all F103s, I think it would be way more popular. I imagine more than a few open wheel vintage F103 my come out of retirement. I may even be tempted to buy an F103RM myself.

Read the rules for the intention of the Spec/novice class. It is a class designated for those who are new to the hobby. It is intended as a low intimidation class for racers who are just starting the learning curve, using the chassis that are inexpensive and without the need for a lot of tweaking and tuning. I have not heard of anyone get kicked up to GT3 because they demonstrated excessive skills in qualifying. The pride factor of competing in a class designed for 12 year olds with a beat up TL-01 seems to keep (most) sand-baggers out of the class.
