When I'm in Memphis, I like them crusty french rolls. With maybe some sesame seeds on 'em.

Oh, and a Mini. And maybe a FF01 for the Vintage class.
But mostly them french rolls...yum!

FRP chassis allowed.

No modern variations of the TRF shocks. This is to limit people running titanium nitride coated shafts and due to all the variations of "TRF" alloy shocks available.
rccardr said this would NOT be an exhibition class. In your earlier post in the Memphis thread you said it would be.

I would assume it would be an exhibition class from your Memphis thread post?

Ahh... finally found this thread.

Yes, Vintage class can be run at Memphis (it's up to the TCS site). However i'll have to double check on the rules regarding the class. We can't have HPI bodies and tires on Tamiya vehicles at a TCS race (reference to post #80).

Vintage class rules as posted in the general TCS thread:

1. Chassis: TA01, TA02 and FF01 chassis only.
2. Car count: There will be one (1) heat of a maximum of 20 cars for Vintage
Class.
3. Tires/inserts: 26mm vinyl tires only: Racing Slicks (50454), Racing
Radials (50419), and Racing Semi Slick Tires (50810), any insert is allowed. (updated tire rules below)
4. Bodies: Due to the scarcity vintage sedan bodies, we will use rules
similar to the 2007 Finals GT-2 Class body rules; any touring car or sports
car body may use except any NSX, Nissan skyline R34, Ferrari 330 and 430,
Lexus SC, Subaru Legacy, Racing Nissan 350Z and Mercedes CLK-GTR
5. Motors: Tamiya Silver can or Sport Tuned (black can) motors are allowed.
6. Battery: 7.2 volt NiCad or NiMh batteries only. No mAh limit.
7. Hop-Ups: Any Tamiya Hop-Up may be used and installed the way it was
designed, for these vintage chassis'.
8. To sign-up, please state Vintage Class in "Comments" section of entry
form.

Please note, the Vintage class is a spectator class at the Memphis TCS race. It will not count towards your 2-class limit rule for this event.

The selection of tires for the Vintage class has been expanded to include
any of Tamiya's 26mm sedan tire and wheel. Here is a list of recommended
tires that are available at this time.

Jeff, there have been some conflicting messages coming out of Tamiya. One said that the vintage class would be a regular old class- one of the two you are allowed to enter. Another said that it would be a regular class only if enough people entered that the race director thought the '2-class' rule should be in effect, otherwise it would be an exhibition class and you could enter it in addition to the two class limit.

Personally, I'm running it regardless. But if I had the extra room in my suitcase, I'd be bringing a third car as well just in case.

We were asked by the race director at Memphis to keep it an exhibition class so that more people can participate since it won't count towards their two class limit.

It's up to the TCS site to determine how they want to want the format. Other than that, I don't see any conflicting messages coming from Tamiya since all the Vintage class rules were posted by me.

Larry- Note following snip from e-mail received from Tamiya USA on Monday, April 7th:
TCS #135 Update,
We will be running a Vintage Class for those interested in resurrecting and racing their vintage Tamiya sedans, please see the Vintage Class rules below. We ran this class at the Tamiya America HQ TCS race and it was great fun. Please note, the "2 class only" rule will apply for this event, so if you plan on participating in the Vintage Class it will count as one of your classes, please plan accordingly.
Now, note the following message received on Tuesday, April 8th:
TCS #135 Update,
The Vintage Class will be allowed as a third class. But please note, if there is a large turn out for this event the "2 class only" rule will go into affect at the discretion of the race director, if this happens, the Vintage Class it will count as one of your classes. Therefore, if you're running 3 classes, one will have to dropped, please plan accordingly.
Clearly, these are conflicting (or at a minimum, updated) messages. You may be posting the rules, but others (e.g. Gary) are also communicating with the TCS entrants, not all of whom may be receiving/reading/comprehending the changes or updates.

Like I said earlier, I'm gonna run Vintage regardless- and understand that it's up to the RD to determine whether it's an exhibition class or not. It's all good, and nobody expects the process to be perfect.

Gary told me that he told you the April 8th message was an update. You'll have to take it up with him.

Regardless, the Memphis boys want it as an exhibition class and they will have it that way. This way it keeps things fun without affecting entry limitations.

Thanks Larrio for the clarification and doc for the confusion. I thought was supposed to be an exhibition class, after rccardrs post, glad I checked and had it confirmed. It will be fun having my first sedan out again with a throwback body.
