Camarillo was super fun, my very first time racing. I got to drive Dave's practice 415MSX. 1st time racing + 1st time driving touring car + my overall newb driving = lots of crashing. Tony did a 26, 5:10 first time out in Sportsman stock. One of the expert stock class guys started complaining. haha

Going from M03 and F201 to MSX is a huge learning curve.

I'll check on the 416 status tomorrow morning at work. EDIT: No pricing released for it yet, so i'd say ETA for November.

Looks like the 416 is coming sooner than later, but I think I will stick with the TA05 series. They change the chassis too often, and although they have developed this for brushless and probably Lipo as well, I think the TA05 will be around for a little longer and still be competitive. The 416 looks like an evolution to me.

Anyway, The Novak race at Trackside may have a masters class this Jan. Doc, you game? 1st weekend in Jan. Speed week starts the 29th this year, YEE HAA!! Start honing your carpet skills for the worlds. Remember, no traction compound. Any SIR racers coming this year? You know you are ALLWAYS welcome!

On silver cans, I have been accused of cheating as many times as the next guy. All I ever did was water dip and gear to let'um breath. I only got fast when I learned how to drive. Same motors, better set-up, better skills and all of a sudden I was a motor cheater...lol One night I even took a silver can motor out of the garbage can and TQ'd and won with it at F-1 oval, but that is another story.

Funny how now after reaching 50+ I have forgotten how to drive. Doc is correct, old = slower. Really, I used to be fast, really...... lol

Don't get me wrong, you need a good silver can, but as in all racing, the motor is not everything.

Jeff, if you want motor parity, I hear brushless is the way to go. Not quite perfect, but very close.

In case you have not heard, (I know, old news) TSC just may have a brushless, lipo, TA 05 class next year. I would think that only leaves set-up, tuning and heaven forbid, driver skill as the variables. I say, "BRING IT ON".

Marty

BTW, GOOD LUCK to TONY, JUAN and DEVON. This is a great U.S. team to send to the Worlds.

p.s. Don't forget to enjoy the moment and have a good time.
Marty, you're just mad you were never the king of the playground

In case anyone cares...

42103 TA05 MS due back in stock 10/03/07

42104 TRF415MSX MRE 2007 may be trailing behind the TA05 MS, so mid to late October.

Default 2007 TCS Nationals Mini Video

Anyone interested in video of the Mini triple a mains, I have posted video of all three mains at http://gallery.mac.com/davidweir13#100074.

yes, it follows Nathan around, but the view was quite wide, so it picks up lots of the racers.

Hey, what's the preferred motor cleaner for silver cans? Something that doesn't dry the brushes etc.

In that case, I will have to take two. But then there is nemo's car also. Better make it four. Humm, Tigress drove mine and wants hers changed over now. Make that six. Is there a "bulk" disocunt ? Will they be available before the next Camarillo race ?
